Ferrari World™ Abu Dhabi is one of the most popular amusement parks in the city. Over the years, the destination has seen more than a million visitors annually.

Home to record-breaking attractions, Ferrari World is one of three major theme parks on Yas Island. It has also become a prime destination for bucket list experiences and family excursions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Planning to visit the Yas Island theme park soon? Below are five tips to help you enjoy unparalleled Ferrari-inspired experiences better:

1. Book online.

Nobody likes standing in line, even for the best amusement park in Abu Dhabi. The good news is, you can make your trip to Ferrari World less stressful and more exciting by booking your entrance tickets online.

Besides letting you skip the queue, online ticket purchases also come with value-added deals. You can even enjoy incredible discounts, especially if you come in larger groups of four or more.

Online booking also comes with other convenient amenities, including complimentary shuttle bus rides to and from the park.

2. Make your travel plans early.

Although there are free rides to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, it’s still a good idea to plan your trip based on where you’re coming from to make sure you arrive on time.

Going through the ‌ transportation options also helps you prepare for the rest of your trip better, especially if you intend to visit other theme parks and destinations on Yas Island.

Here’s a quick rundown of the possible routes and directions on how to get to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi:

By Bus

If you’re coming from Dubai, you can take complimentary bus rides to the amusement park via the following routes:
  • Deira City Centre Entrance bus stop beside Aloft Hotel
  • Ibn Battuta Parking 7 bus stop

Meanwhile, those hailing from Abu Dhabi can catch a shuttle bus headed straight for Yas Island on Route B. These buses stop at two locations:
  • Warner Bros. World™ and Yas Waterworld
  • Ferrari World and CLYMB™

You can also ride bus A19 or 170 from the Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 Arrival Halls bus stop if you're coming straight from the Abu Dhabi International Airport. These will take you to Yas Mall.

If you choose A19, you can expect an hourly departure from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., with a travel time of about 15 to 20 minutes. Meanwhile, bus 170 leaves every two hours and takes about 30 minutes to get to Yas Island.

By Car

If you’re driving, you can reach Yas Island within 25 minutes from Abu Dhabi via two routes:
  • Route 1 (E10 Highway - Al Raha Beach Highway): From Abu Dhabi Island, take Maqta Bridge and exit to Yas Island. Follow the “Yas Leisure Drive” and “Ferrari World Abu Dhabi / CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi” tourist signs until you reach your destination.
  • Route 2 (E12 Highway - Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Highway): Head towards Mina Zayed Port from the Corniche Road. From there, take E12 and follow the signs to Yas Island.

If you’re coming from Dubai, you can take the E11 Highway (Sheikh Zayed Road) and go straight to Abu Dhabi. Then, take the East Exit to Yas Island and follow the blue signs indicating Yas Leisure Drive. It should take you roughly 50 minutes to reach Ferrari World.

3. Plan your trip during non-peak dates.

You can enjoy Ferrari World Abu Dhabi during non-peak dates. This should be around the “shoulder” periods of the summer months, around the beginning of April or the end of September. Weekdays are better than weekdays, too.

Besides avoiding enormous crowds, this also lets you maximize your trip to Ferrari World since you won’t have to wait long for rides. Travelers who went there on a weekday in September only spent around five to 15 minutes per ride. If you follow their example, you may be able to try more attractions during your trip.

And since most of the park is indoors, you won’t need to worry about the summer heat. In comparison, weekends, public holidays, the winter months, and school holidays in the UAE coincide with the park’s busiest period (between mid-October and January).

It could get very crowded during these dates. You might even have to wait for as long as two hours for some rides.

Of course, if this is your only available travel time, you can always buy an Express Pass to skip the long lines.

4. Arrive before the gates open.

Unless you have other things planned for the day, consider arriving at Ferrari World as early as 15 minutes before the gates open.

As of May, Ferrari World is open every day from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. (save for a few exceptions). Since their schedule changes, you’ll need to check the park’s official website to see their current opening hours a week before your trip.

5. Try the most popular rides first.

Popular rides have the longest queues in Ferrari World – or any other theme park for that matter. Unless you’re willing to skip the top attractions (which is not recommended), you’ll have to prioritize lining up to these rides to make the most out of your visit to the amusement park.

But what exactly should you try first? Here are a few rides you should consider:

Formula Rossa

Aside from being the world’s first and region’s only Ferrari-inspired theme park, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is also home to some record-breaking rides you wouldn’t want to miss. One of them is Formula Rossa.

Hailed as the fastest roller coaster in the world, this roller coaster can go up to 240 kilometers per hour in 4.9 seconds. It also has one of the most thrilling tracks in the region that peaks at a whopping 52-meter height, making it a thrill-seeker’s favorite ride.

Flying Aces

Some travelers consider Flying Aces a scarier ride than Formula Rossa. Besides being wickedly fast, this roller coaster also has the steepest incline (51 degrees) and the tallest roller coaster loop globally.

Turbo Track

Turbo Track lets visitors experience what it’s like to be a Ferrari test driver. While short, the ride is quite intense, launching riders across and beyond the park complex at a staggering speed of 102 kilometers per hour.

Want to make the ride more exciting? Ride Turbo Track’s rear-facing seats to add an extra level of thrill. Besides the unexpected launch, you’ll also get a clear view of Ferrari World’s iconic red roof.
