Tesla, the global electric vehicle (EV) giant, is officially making its way to the Philippines, marking a significant milestone in the country's automotive landscape.



A board-up for Tesla was spotted at Uptown Bonifacio in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), hinting at the impending launch of the brand's flagship showroom.


This will be Tesla's first-ever showroom in the Philippines and the fourth in Southeast Asia, following successful openings in Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.

While an exact opening date has yet to be confirmed, sources indicate that the showroom is expected to open before the year ends.


This development comes after Tesla ramped up recruitment efforts in the Philippines earlier this month, advertising several key positions, including a Store Manager, Leads Generation Program Manager, Project Developer, and Delivery Operations Specialist. These moves signaled the company's intention to establish a solid presence in the country’s growing EV market.




Founded in 2003 by engineers Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, Tesla revolutionized the automotive industry under the leadership of Elon Musk, who joined the company as an investor in 2004 and later became its CEO. With its commitment to sustainable energy and cutting-edge technology, Tesla has become the world leader in electric vehicle innovation.



The new showroom at Uptown Parade is set to provide Filipino consumers with direct access to Tesla’s lineup of electric vehicles, further promoting the adoption of clean energy in the Philippines.

For travelers eyeing Puerto Galera, a ticket to Batangas City, where passengers are dropped off at the pier, comes at a fare of P268 per person. From there, a seamless boat ride transports travelers to Puerto Galera's shores. Meanwhile, adventure-seekers dreaming of Subic Beach's breathtaking vistas in Sorsogon can secure a ticket for P1,300 per person.



As for other destinations, fares vary: San Juan-Ibaan-Rosario starts at P300 per person, Oriental Mindoro at P1,300 per person, Panay Island at P2,700 per person, Tabaco-Legazpi-Naga at P1,100 per person, and Naga-Pili-Iriga at P900 per person.

Found a new exquisite hotel in BGC!



To celebrate my wife's birthday this year, I decided to surprise her by booking a hotel-cation just near our house. This is my way to treat her and let her relax after a being a hands-on mom to our 2 kids for a long time.

The last time I surprised my wife was also her birthday when I brought her to an island in Laguna.

About Brittany Hotel

Brittany Hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, a restaurant and bar in Taguig. With free WiFi, this hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk. The property has a business center, a concierge service and currency exchange for guests.

Complete with a private bathroom equipped with a bidet and free toiletries, the rooms at the hotel have a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, and some rooms have a seating area. At Brittany Hotel BGC rooms come with bed linen and towels.

Bonifacio High Street is a 11-minute walk from Brittany Hotel BGC, while Glorietta Mall is 2.7 miles from the property.

As of writing, there are THREE types of rooms offered by Brittany Hotel. For couples and family, they have Deluxe King and Deluxe Twins.

The difference between the two is that for Deluxe King, you get a king-size bed in a 28-sqm. room which is perfect for couples while for Deluxe Twins, it has two beds which are perfect if you have children.

But the one that is outstanding and their most exquisite room is their Suite that aside for its king-size bed, it also features an en-suite, double-sink bathroom with multipoint shower and a bathtub.

What to Expect at Brittany Hotel 

Well, Brittany Hotel is a new hotel in BGC (Bonifacio Global City) so you can expect it to have a refreshing look with an elegant touch and contemporary interior. The building they use is being shared with the residence condominium. Brittany Hotel uses the lower floors while the condo have the upper levels. Though, they both share the penthouse (rooftop) facilities like the infinity overlooking pool.

Upon entrance to the hotel, you will be welcomed with greenery at their in-house bar and restaurant, For The Road. Here, you can lounge while checking in or grab a bite and drink from the bar.


Also in this area is a cafe, Tea For Two, which features tea-set where you can choose a tea paired with appetizing tea sandwiches and assorted pastries.


Check-in is at 2:00 pm while check out time is at 12:00 noon. Concierge was nice and very accommodating. They asked for a deposit (see booking options) prior to booking. I already paid the rest of my bill though it's optional. They accept cash and card payments.

Our Suite is at 14th. The room features a nice 360 view of BGC and the nearby spots such as Manila-American Cemetery and buildings from McKinley Hill from afar.

Behind the door is a welcome area and the spacious living room. When I say, "spacious", I mean it's very wide compared to the usual hotel rooms. It has a cozy couch, a 50″ flat-screen TV and a dining table with tableware.

From here, we got complementary water, coffee and tea with an electric kettle and a mini-fridge.

Next thing we checked was the bathroom which really wowed us! It has a toilet, 2 sinks with mirrors, a big bathtub and a multipoint shower.

Yup, shower everywhere! Plus, I liked it when they added a part where you can sit while taking a bath. Towels are generously provided. Kudos to their effort to make them animal-looking, my daughter really loved it.

Lastly, the bedroom was great! It features a panoramic window where you can see the rest of Manila-American Cemetery. It has a nice rocking chair, long table with a seat. In the middle is the king-size bed with lamps and drawers on each sides. To the corner is another couch which is perfect to lounge while watching from their 50″ flat-screen TV.

All these rooms are connected by a walking closet with a huge mirror, drawers, hair dyers, hangers and in-room electronic safe. All their TVs are connected with cable and they also have phones all over the house for services. Not to mention the free WiFi that has no password or login needed!

What I didn't expect is that they offer turndown service in the evening with a sweet treat.

Overall, our stay here was very smooth and relaxing. All the staff are smiling and are helpful. We as a family recommend to book a stay here. :)

As mentioned above, they have a big pool at penthouse that offers an infinity view of BGC. I brought my daughter there on our second day. Glad that it wasn't raining and there was no other guests.


Guests from Brittany Hotel needed to present a pool pass, which we were given on our check-in, to access this area and use the pool.


There's also a Fitness Center, a place where you can get your daily cardio and the Botanica Salon & Spa to pamper yourself with haircut, nail services or a deep-tissue massage.

Included to our 1-night stay was a free breakfast buffet for two. We went to the 8th floor the next morning to get energized with their food selections.

BRITTANY HOTEL: Staycation With Infinity Pool and Best View of BGC in Taguig


Once and for all, the 30-year long dispute between the two cities has now finalized.



The high tribunal affirmed its 2021 decision that the Fort Bonifacio Military Reservation, where BGC is located and was the center of the dispute between the neighboring cities, is within the territorial jurisdiction of Taguig City based on a resolution dated on September 28, 2022.

By putting an end to the land dispute, the Supreme Court will no longer entertain further pleadings, motions, or letters regarding the 729-hectare BGC and several barangays in Makati.


TIMELINE: The BGC Land Dispute


1993: Start of Land Dispute Between Taguig and Makati

In 1993, Taguig filed a complaint against Makati before the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) regarding the two's territorial dispute over the Enlisted Men’s Barangays (EMBOs)—which includes Barangays Pembo, Comembo, Cembo, South Cembo, West Rembo, East Rembo and Pitogo—and the entirety of Fort Andres Bonifacio.


The city also asked that two former presidential proclamations be declared null and void: Presidential proclamations 2475, issued in 1986 by Ferdinand Marcos, and 518 issued in 1990 by Corazon Aquino. These two proclamations placed certain areas of the Enlisted Men's Barangays to be under Makati City jurisdiction. 



If we go further back, the beginnings of the area as being under either city started when President Carlos P. Garcia issued Proclamation 423 in 1957, creating military reservation Fort Bonifacio out of the old American base of Fort McKinley. Makati was not mentioned at all in the proclamation. 

When the Bases Conversion and Development Authority was established in 1992, it also created a map, survey plan PSU-2031, wherein Fort McKinley was divided into four parcels: Parcel 1 located in Pasay, Parcel 2 in Pasay and Paranaque, Parcel 3 in Taguig, and Parcel 4 located in Taguig and Pasig. 


2011: Pasig court rules in favor of Taguig

In 2011, the Pasig court ruled in favor of Taguig, making Parcels 3 and 4 of Psu-2031, comprising Fort Bonifacio, a permanent part of Taguig. The decision also said Makati has no jurisdiction over, make improvements on, or treat the disputed areas as part of its territory.


2013: Court of Appeals rules in favor of Makati

After the 2011 decision, Makati filed for reconsideration at the Pasig court, while also filing a petition for annulment of judgment with the Court of Appeals (CA). When the RTC denied Makati's motion, they then filed another appeal—resulting in Taguig arguing that Makati was forum shopping. 



In July 2013, the CA ruled in favor of Makati being the rightful owner of BGC. A few months later in September, Taguig brought the case to the SC, again arguing that Makati was abusing the legal process. In 2016, the Supreme Court finds the three lawyers of Makati City guilty of contempt and imposes a P2,000-fine on each, according to CNN.

2017: Court of Appeals rules in favor of Taguig

A few years later, the CA then rules that Taguig is indeed the owner. The court granted Taguig's motion to dismiss, filed against Makati, having taken note of the Supreme Courts earlier June 2016 decision pointing to the former's engaging in forum shopping.

2021: Supreme Court rules in favor of Taguig

Makati then elevated its dispute to the Supreme Court, which in December 2021 decided in favor of Taguig. The SC formally denied the Petition for Review on Certiorari filed by Makati on the 2017 decisions by both itself and the CA.


2022: SC upholds decision

In September 2022, SC's Special Third Division upheld its decision with finality.

It reinstated three rulings "with modification: from the original 2011 decision of the Pasig RTC, quoted in whole below:
  • Fort Bonifacio Military Reservation, consisting of Parcels 3 and 4, Psu-2031, is confirmed to be part of the territory of the City of Taguig.
  • The Writ of Preliminary Injunction dated August 2, 1994 issued by the RTC of Pasig, explicitly referring to Parcels 3 and 4, Psu-2031, comprising Fort Bonifacio, be made PERMANENT insofar as it enjoined the Municipality, now City of Makati, from exercising jurisdiction over, making improvements on, or otherwise treating as part of its territory, Parcels 3 and 4, Psu-2031, comprising Fort Bonifacio.
  • Ordering City of Makati to pay the costs of the suit.

2023: SC denies Makati’s motion over land dispute with Taguig

The Supreme Court has rejected the Makati City government's motion asking the high court to allow it to file a second motion for reconsideration over its territorial dispute with Taguig City.

In a press release, the SC PIO said its Special Third Division resolved to deny the Makati government’s second omnibus notion.

“Consequently, the Court noted without action the City of Makati’s second motion for reconsideration challenging the Court’s decision dated December 1, 2021. A second motion for reconsideration is generally prohibited under the Rules of Court,” it said.

Taguig City said this victory "marks the beginning of a new chapter for Taguig and its people."

"In a way, Taguig is not the only victor in this legal contest. In a bigger sense, with both parties putting their trust in the legal system, it is the rule of law which prevailed," it said in a statement.

The Technology Gallery is the largest of all the galleries. It is the only exhibition space on the second level, overlooking the other four galleries. The gallery is divided into five major themes with each theme occupying a Node. The themes of the Nodes are: How We Live, Who We Are, How We Know, How Things Work, and Here to There.



Our Personal Experience

Last weekend, we brought our daughter to celebrate her 6th birthday to The Mind Museum. We were glad to learn about their Birthday Promo and availed it for her.

I've been wanting to visit the museum since it was opened in 2012. But it took me 11 years just to get to experience The Mind Museum (finally! hahaha).

Tours inside The Mind Museum takes up to 3 hours according to their website. So it's always better to plan ahead your schedule. For us, we took advantage of their All-Day Pass for only P550 which we booked from Klook.

We purchased two tickets so that we can avail the birthday promo for Gabby.

Upon our arrival, we went straight in to the entrance lobby where we were asked to show our booking confirmation via email and Gabby's school ID to confirm her birth date. We brought with us our baby in a stroller who was free to enter the museum, too.

We didn't know where to go first. We stepped in to our first gallery which is the Atom Gallery. From here, we had fun playing with the lights and our shadows.

In this area, we found their famous static ball and I got to try it myself! :)

From here, we went in to Life to Atom Corridor: Inner Space Track. Here, we learned about Cell Story and Cave of Tiny Secrets.

Next area we explored was the Life Gallery. From here we found their huge model of Whale Shark and other animals.

There's also parts of human brain, evolution of mammals, cells and more interactive installations.


At the end of the gallery is a tall giraffe which is standing next to the escalator going to Technology Gallery.

From here, we entered another gallery, the Universe Gallery. Gabby already noticed the model of an astronaut from afar. The whole area was dark and covered by star-like lights on the ceiling, making it to look like a galaxy.

We went straight to the phase of the moon where it shows different shades of light and shadow on the moon.

There's also a model of Mars rover.

We also wanted to watch the celestial show at Space Shell. However, the next scheduled time is already late for us.

After a short stroll, Gabby and I went upstairs to Universe to Atom Corridor: the Lightbridge.

Here, we got to see Visible Light Spectrum and the cool Piano Stairs.

Then, while taking a rest, Gabby sat down for a live science demo back to the Atom Gallery.

Now it's time to go to Technology Gallery which is located at the 2nd level. We took the elevator instead of the escalator.


From here, we learned about Who We Are, How We Live, How We Know and How Things Work.

Back to 1st level, we ended our tour at Earth Gallery where their majestic T-rex skeleton is installed. Of course, we did not skip to get a nice photo of it for Gabby.

Also in this area, we learned about the timeline of Earth, rocks, volcanoes, oceans and more.

That sums up our tour at The Mind Museum! We ended our tour before 6pm, just perfect time for dinner.

We took a stroll to look for a nice restaurant at Bonifacio High Street. If you have more time or want to stay a little longer, you may also opt to have a coffee from one of the cafes in BGC.

Here are a few reminders so everyone gets the most out of their time with science:
  • Wear your face masks properly at all times.
  • Practice social distancing. 
  • Follow instructions on our interactive exhibits.
  • Read the markers. More Learning = More Fun!
  • Please take care of our exhibits so everyone can enjoy them. You may be asked to pay for any exhibit damage.
  • Don't lose your adult.
  • Don't drag your bag around. Bring your valuables but leave your big bags in your vehicles or buses. The Museum doesn't have an area to store your bags. It is also not liable for any losses or damages.
  • Please walk at all times. Don't run, play, or be rough with friends and other visitors. The Museum will not be liable for any injuries.
  • Quickly take pictures. Others are waiting for their own awesome experience.
  • We love animals, but no pets please inside the Museum.
  • Help keep the museum clean. No eating and drinking inside. You may take refreshments at the Jollibee at the Canopy Plaza or at the many restaurants around the museum. 
  • Be curious and explore at your own pace. There are no tour guides.
  • If you need help, ask the Museum staff. We’re always happy to assist you.
  • Those who don't follow the rules will be asked to "sit out" the rest of their Museum visit.

How to Get to The Mind Museum

The Mind Museum is located on JY Campos Park, 3rd Avenue, Bonifacio Global City. Entrance to the Museum driveway for drop-off is along Rizal Drive corner 30th Street.


Public Transport

Take the BGC West Route Bus from the Ayala-MRT Station at McKinley Exchange. From the Market Market terminal, take the BGC Central bus. The bus stop for both buses is at Net One. 


Private Vehicles

Bonifacio Global City (BGC) has four main entry points: Lawton Avenue, McKinley Road, Kalayaan Avenue, and C5.


Lawton Avenue
  • Drive down Lawton Avenue as it widens to become 5th Avenue, crossing McKinley Parkway.
  • Turn left on 26th Street and then turn right on 3rd Avenue.
  • You will see the Museum coming up on your left.
  • To access the passenger drop off point: turn left on 30th street and turn left again on Rizal Drive.
  • Then make an immediate left onto the Museum driveway.


McKinley Road
  • Turn left onto 5th Avenue at the stop light of McKinley Parkway.
  • Turn left onto 26th Street. Turn right onto 3rd Avenue.
  • You will see the museum coming up to your left.
  • Turn left onto 30th Street and turn left onto Rizal Drive to access the passenger drop off point.


Kalayaan Avenue
  • From Kalayaan Avenue turn right onto 2nd Avenue.
  • Turn left on 31st Street, then turn right on Rizal Drive.
  • Entrance to the Museum’s driveway will be on your left, just after the 30th Street stoplight.


C-5
  • From the Southbound lane of C-5, enter BGC via Kalayaan Avenue.
  • From the northbound lane of C-5, turn right onto the Sampaguita bridge.
  • Turn left on 26th Street at the top of the bridge.
  • Drive all the way down, crossing 5th Avenue.
  • Turn right onto 3rd Avenue.
  • You will see the Museum coming up on your left.
  • To access the passenger drop off point, turn left onto 30th Street and turn left onto Rizal Drive to enter the Museum driveway.

The Mind Museum does not have its own designated parking lot. However, the suggested public parking lot is Crescent North.

The Mind Museum Admission Fee

You can avail any of the following admission tickets:

Three-hour Visit Time Slots
  • Access to main galleries with over 250 interactive exhibits. No access to special or travelling exhibitions.
  • Ticket Prices:
    • Adult - P625
    • Child or Private School Student (up to college) - P475
    • Philippine Public School Student* (up to college) - P190
    • Teacher** - P190


All Day Pass Visit: No Time Slot Restrictions
  • Access to main galleries with over 250 interactive exhibits. No access to special or travelling exhibitions.
  • Ticket Price:
    • All-day Pass (Adult or Child) - P750


*Students may be asked to present a valid school ID, while public school students are required to present a valid Philippine public school ID. 
  • If public school student does not have an ID yet, presentation of current enrollment in a Philippine public school will be accepted. If the child attends a public day care, proof of enrollment from a Philippine government day care must be presented.

**Teachers must present a valid academic/school ID indicating "teacher." 
  • If teacher does not have a valid school ID, presentation of certificate of employment from the school along with a government issued ID will be accepted. 


Other important reminders:
  • Senior citizen and PWD discounts apply to published rates only.
  • Discounts are given at the ticket booth upon presentation of a valid Senior Citizen or PWD ID.
