It is always important to carry something with you that can prove your identity. People nowadays even steal identities of other people and that is just one thing to be scared of. Aside from this concern, identity documents (IDs) are often the number one requirement when trying to get something; a job, a passport, visa, another ID, and a lot more important things that matter.

Valid ID is required in various government services like getting a PSA Birth Certificate, NBI Clearance, Police Clearance, opening a bank account, taking a Civil Service Exam, applying for a job, and passport application, among others.

A valid form of identification is essential for a variety of reasons. A government-issued ID is a valid proof of a person's identification. Moreover, the majority of institutions require both a primary and secondary valid ID.

It is recommended that you have at least two (2) valid IDs (primary) so you do not have to provide secondary IDs or documents. For example, when applying for or renewing a passport, you must have two (2) valid IDs. Additionally, prepare a photocopy, just in case needed.
