New Alabang Viaduct-Skyway Ramp Now Open

DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade joins DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, and SMC President and COO Ramon Ang in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and drive-through inspection of the New Alabang Viaduct-Skyway Ramp and reopening of the third lane of the Skyway at-grade today, 01 December 2019.

The opening of this new Skyway ramp and lane reopening is part of the DPWH Skyway Extension project, which includes the construction of four lanes in the Sucat-to-Alabang section, with ramps leading to the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).

Actual construction started September 2019 after government arrived at an agreement with SMC for an accelerated timeline, with a December 2019 target date of opening.

With this new ramp and lane reopening, traffic congestion in the South Luzon Expressway is expected to ease considerably, especially in this peak travel holiday season.

Joining Secretary Tugade in this occasion from team DOTr are Usec. for Finance Garry de Guzman, Usec. for Legal Affairs Reinier Paul Yebra, Asec. for Procurement and Project Implementation Giovanni Lopez, and Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) Chairman Abraham Sales.
