Passion served in Baso't Tasa

What does your neighborhood cafe offers? Cakes, pastries, frappe? Well, this food park stall has that and more.

Baso't Tasa is located at the Playfield Food Park at the back of East Raya Residences, Mercedes Ave., Pasig City.

Location is very convenient for the villages and schools in the area. It's also 1 tricycle ride away from Pasig town proper. Just take the yellow trike across Ministop-Kapasigan.

We tried their red velvet cake first. This is my favorite among their selection. The cake is moist but the best part is the cream cheese frosting. It's just the right blend that does not over power the cake. Definitely not nakakaumay. I'm craving for it now that I'm thinking about it hahaha. We were so full from dinner, but after tasting this, our tummies definitely made room for more. Did I mention that it has a layer of chocolate as well? Yum!

Next, I tried the chocolate cake. I'm not a fan of chocolate cakes in general but I liked theirs together with aero pressed coffee. The aroma of the coffee, the flavour, then the sweetness of the chocolate. Ugh, perfect ending for a night of binge eating.

I would have loved to try their other selections, like their frappes. Others say it taste like starbucks and I'd like to find out if it really does. They also serve beer cupcake but was sold out when we got there. Sana next time maabutan namin. They have non coffee based drinks for kids as well, they have chocolate, matcha and fruit based drinks. So if you don't like coffee, madami ka pa din pagpipilian.

I also had a chit chat with the owner/barista, and you can really feel the passion she has to serve coffee and promote the local industry. Kaya bitin na bitin ako na we were already busog at di ko matry yung frappes nila.

They got a lot on their menu and the prices are affordable. I've been to cofeeshops with almost twice the price but just tastes like storebought coffee, kaya I can say that this shop is really worth a visit. I can picture myself taking my time to experience a taza of their coffee and maybe just a slice of the red velvet next time.
