How to Pay Cable and Internet Bill using GCash

Here are the steps on how to pay for your bill:

STEP 1: On the main dashboard, tap the Pay Bills icon to start the process.

STEP 2: Under Biller Categories, select Cable/Internet.

STEP 3: From the list of partner billers, browse and choose the biller that you want to pay.

STEP 4: Next, enter the required details needed for the transaction. Click the NEXT button to continue.

STEP 5: Review your transaction, then click the CONFIRM button to process the payment.

STEP 6: Once the payment is successful, the payment reference number with the details of the transaction will be enumerated. Click the DONE button to go back to the main dashboard.



You will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number once the bill payment is successful. You will also receive the Payment Receipt in the email address you have provided while processing the payment.

Note: the payment will be posted based on the biller, but mostly, it will be posted the next business day. Some billers apply an additional transaction fee.

How to Pay Converge ICT Bill Using GCash (Fee & Timeframe)

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) on Friday approved the registration of Starlink Internet Services Philippines Inc. (Starlink) -- a subsidiary of Elon Musk’s SpaceX --allowing the satellite internet provider to begin offering its services in the country.

In a statement, NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba said Starlink has been approved as a value-added service (VAS) provider, allowing direct access to satellite systems, and the construction and operation of broadband facilities.

“The NTC is steadfast in helping ensure that roll-out of Starlink’s internet access services will be done expeditiously and professionally,” Cordoba said.
Starlink, a low-Earth orbit satellite system designed to bring broadband services to remote areas, is expected to offer low latency satellite internet in the country between 100 Megabits per second (Mbps) to 200 Mbps.


The Philippines is set to be the first country in Southeast Asia to have Starlink broadband service -- allowing Filipinos in remote areas to enjoy low latency internet services such as video calls, online gaming, streaming, and other “high data” activities that were previously difficult with regular satellite internet.

“Starlink is expected to cover villages in urban and suburban areas and rural areas that remain unserved or underserved with internet access services. The service is expected to bring cost-effective internet access in these areas,” Cordoba said.

SpaceX counsel, lawyer Bien Marquez from the law firm Quisumbing Torres, thanked the NTC for its “prompt action,” noting that Starlink’s VAS license was issued 30 minutes after their submission of registration and complete requirements.

Elon Musk’s Starlink Gets Nod from NTC


A new submarine optical cable system will soon run along Hong Kong, the Philippines, and other countries in Southeast Asia (SEA) to further boost digital connectivity in the region.


In a statement on Thursday, fiber broadband provider Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Uy announced his company’s involvement in the SEA Hainan-Hong Kong Express (SEA-H2X) cable system -- a 5,000-kilometer (km) long submarine optical cable utilizing at least eight fiber pairs between Singapore to Hong Kong with a system design capacity of 160 terabits per second (Tbps).

“This submarine cable system will boost the connectivity between our two points of presence (PoP) located in Hong Kong and in Singapore. Further, this will serve as a crucial infrastructure to add diversity and redundancy to our international network,” Uy said.


He added that the system will “truly diversify” Converge’s international capacity portfolio as transpacific demand will be served by the Bifrost cable system, with trans-Asia demand will be serviced by the SEA-H2X.

In a media bulletin, Converge said the system is targeted to be ready for service in 2024 and will employ “state-of-the-art” optical submarine transmission equipment.


“The construction of SEA-H2X will respond to the high broadband demand between Hong Kong SAR and Southeast Asia countries by providing needed capacity and faster transmission, and in preparation for the coming 5G era,” Converge said.

It will connect the Philippines to Hong Kong, Hainan, Thailand, East Malaysia, and Singapore—with options to extend to Vietnam, Cambodia, West Malaysia, and Indonesia.

The cable system will be implemented by HMN Technologies Co., Limited (HMN Tech)—from its design and manufacturing to deployment.

It said the system will employ an “open system model” to have the flexibility to choose “best-in-breed” submarine line terminal equipment from third-party vendors at a later date.



“HMN Tech’s advanced Branching Unit and Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer will benefit SEA-H2X in providing the ultimate flexibility of electrical power and optical fiber switches across multiple locations,” Converge said.

The SEA-H2X cable system is a partnership between several international telecommunications companies including Converge, China Mobile International Limited, China Unicom Global, and PPTEL SEA H2X.
