MANDATORY USE OF FACE SHIELDSSotto said the City Council has recently passed an ordinance imposing the mandatory use of face shields on public transports, work offices, and stores amid the pandemic.
The local government has adopted the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), the Departments of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Labor and Employment (DOLE) on the use of face shields.
FREE FACE SHIELD DISTRIBUTIONIn his social media posts, Sotto shared photos of the city’s traffic enforcers distributing face shields to drivers of public utility vehicles in Pasig.
“Hindi kailangan ng face shield habang nagmamaneho, nagbibisikleta, o nage-exercise (No need to use face shield while driving, cycling, or exercising),” he added.
STRICT IMPLEMENTATIONThe mayor said the local government will strictly implement the mandatory wearing of face shields next week.
