The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will open an additional 60 routes for traditional Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) and 4 routes for UV Expresses once Metro Manila is subjected to the General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Opening these routes also means the following increase in the number of authorized units:



  • Additional number of authorized units (Traditional PUJs): 4,498
  • Additional number of authorized units (UV Express): 641

MC 2020-037: ADDITIONAL ROUTES ALLOWED FOR THE OPERATION OF TRADITIONAL PUJ VEHICLES DURING THE PERIOD OF GCQ IN METRO MANILA AND ENTERING METRO MANILA (20 AUG 2020)

According to the MCs, there is no need to get a special permit. The agency will issue QR codes for units that will be allowed to travel. These can be downloaded from the agency's website (ltfrb.gov.ph) and must be printed and pasted on the front windshield of the unit without interrupting the driver's vision. Only those with QR codes can pass during this period.

  • Traditional Public Utility Jeepney (PUJ) - 126 routes; 12,443 units

All are reminded of the policies set forth by the IATF-EIF regarding the strict implementation of Social Distancing protocols and the NO FACE MASK, NO FACE SHIELD, NO RIDE on public transport.
