Facebook, Instagram, and Threads are experiencing outages for numerous users on Tuesday, with thousands reporting difficulties logging in.



According to downdetector.com, over 350,000 problem reports concerning Facebook have surfaced. The outage seems to have commenced around 10 a.m. Eastern Time, with minimal reports preceding this time.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, caters to nearly four billion individuals globally, constituting about half of the world's populace, through its suite of communication apps.

Issues akin to those on Facebook have also manifested on Meta's other social media platforms, Threads and Instagram, peaking around 10 a.m., though fewer users have reported problems with these platforms.



Users attempting to access Facebook via iOS devices have encountered a popup notification stating "Session expired. Please log in again." Upon clicking OK, users are directed to a sign-in page, where login attempts fail after entering their passwords.

Instagram users have received a popup indicating the app's inability to refresh their feeds, although it does not necessitate logging out.



On Threads, users have been unable to view their feeds, encountering a perpetual loading icon.

Apps reliant on Facebook for login authentication are presently unable to do so.

Meta has not promptly responded to requests for comment.

The duration and scope of the outage remain uncertain.

The company's public support website denotes "major disruptions" impacting several core services, including the Meta admin center and the WhatsApp business API, although the status of Facebook Login is labeled as "unknown."

Plane Filming Locations

‘Plane’ was filmed in Puerto Rico and seemingly in California, specifically in the San Juan Metropolitan Area and Los Angeles. As per reports, the principal photography for the Gerard Butler starrer commenced in early August 2021 and wrapped up in about eight weeks or so in early October. Although the story is set on the Philippines’ Jojo island, the makers chose to shoot most of the movie on the Caribbean island, given its similar features.





San Juan Metropolitan Area, Puerto Rico

Almost all the pivotal sequences for ‘Plane’ were lensed in the San Juan metropolitan area, in the northeastern part of Puerto Rico, centered around the eponymous city. Specifically, Puerto Rico Convention Center at 100 Convention Boulevard in San Juan doubled as the airport terminal where many airplane-related scenes were shot. Given that the filming unit was granted permission to shoot on the site for a week or so, they had to be extra careful while recording all the scenes they planned.

Besides, most of the exterior scenes depicting the island of Jojo were taped on location in and around Castillo San Cristobal, Castillo San Felipe del Morro, both at 501 C. In addition, the production team transformed the Pedrín Zorrilla Stadium or Coliseíto Pedrín Zorrilla at CW7H+X64, Calle Nemesio R. Take the Back Roads

Not every road into Yosemite is bisected by an admission booth. The dirt road at Wawona Meadow that crosses the golf course across from the Wawona Hotel doesn't end when it disappears into the trees; it's an old stagecoach route into Yosemite, and it goes for miles and miles.

You can reach this road, if you know where to look, from its outlets near Fish Camp and Mariposa. Once you get to the park, you won't find anyone waiting at the edge of Wawona Meadow to ask you for your entrance fee.

There are catches, though. It's a long drive on a rutted, unpaved road, and autos without good clearance won't make it. And there is a gate here, a few miles up the road; it's just unmanned. If it's locked when you come through, you'll have no choice but to turn around and go back, and the park, naturally enough, doesn't publish a schedule of when their backdoor gates are open.

Finally, the park service checks for passes/receipts when you're leaving Yosemite, so if you're determined not to pay, you'll have to leave the park via the same long and rugged route (or leave very late at night, as mentioned below).


Catch the Red Eye

The Yosemite entrance booths aren't manned round the clock. If you enter the park late at night, there's usually no one around to collect your money, and you can just drive in. Of course, you're unlikely to find a place to spend the night in Yosemite if you're arriving at midnight, and sleeping in your car (overnight, anyway) is prohibited.

And since the park service checks for passes/receipts when you're leaving Yosemite, you'll have to pay when you leave unless you arrange to leave at midnight, as well.

Hike In

The Pacific Crest/John Muir Trail runs right through the heart of Yosemite. (Yosemite's heart is on its left side as it faces you, just like anyone else's.) Yet you won't find park attendants helicoptering in to shake you down for admission fees when you hike across the border. Maybe it's because rangers don't want to spend their days confronting people who haven't showered for a while, but backpackers get in free.

There are also several non-interstate trails that lead into the park. At the Fish Camp Snow Play area, roughly halfway between Fish Camp and the park's southern entrance, you'll find a fire road that leads to a trail that leads directly into the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.



It's about a 4 mile (6.4 km) hike one way. There are also trails at Cherry Lake that lead into the Hetch Hetchy region; at Virgina Lakes that lead into the northeast corner of the park; in Bloody Canyon leading to the Mono Pass area; and elsewhere that I'm too lazy to list.


Bus In

YARTS Bus

The YARTS bus service can give you a ride into Yosemite if you're west of the park in Merced, Mariposa, Catheys Valley, Midpines, or El Portal, or east of the park in Lee Vining, June Lake, or Mammoth Lakes. You'll have to buy a bus ticket, though, which may detract somewhat from the thrill of getting into the park for free.

Trash Talk Your Way In

At the Yosemite Climbing Association's annual "Yosemite Facelift" event, usually held in September or October, volunteers wander through Yosemite picking up trash (and subsequently putting it in bags). If you're willing to join them, you get into the park free on your trash-picking days. Call ahead or check with the YCA's website to make sure the getting-in-free policy is still in effect for a given year.

History of Yosemite National Park

The past of this area is relatively unknown. Scientists have been able to identify some major events, but not many. The grounds rose about 10 million years ago, probably due to volcanic activity.

Sentinel Rock is a 2,145-meter high sheer cliff. It is seen as the guardian of the south side of Yosemite Valley. Sentinel Falls is found next to Sentinel Rock. This waterfall consists of various parts from which the water drops or flows alternately. They are opposite Yosemite Falls.


Yosemite Cemetery

Few visitors know that Yosemite has a burial ground. White settlers in particular are buried here. Their life was hard in this rugged area, where disease regularly arose. The pioneer cemetery is tucked away in a forest near the Yosemite Museum. Ask about visiting possibilities at the museum. Information about the people buried here is available on site.

Indian Village of Ahwahnee

According to scientists, the first inhabitants lived here about 8,000 years ago. After that, Indian tribes such as Mono Paiute, Sierrra Miwok and Ahwahnechee lived in the area. According to scientists, the Ahwahnechee descend from the Miwok and were the first in the park to have contact with white people.

They lived along the rivers and used, among other things, fire to keep various meadows free of trees. So that many wild animals came to graze there for hunting. Three Brothers

East of El Capitan you find three granite rocks, with beautiful names such as Eagle Peak, Middle Brother, and Lower Brother. Together they are called The Three Brothers, although Pompompasus is also used.

This Native American name means mountains playing leapfrog. A suitable name for those who look at the three mountains. Eagle Peak is the highest (2,173 meters) and rises about 1,150 meters above the valley.

Cathedral Rock is an impressive rock with its height of 2,025 meters. The name comes from its shape. It resembles a Gothic cathedral. Two narrow granite columns can be seen to the left of Cathedral Rock. They are called the spires. Cathedral Rock is located on the east side of the valley, diagonally across from El Capitan.

Liberty Cap

Next to the Nevada waterfall is the immense Liberty Cap. A granite 2,137 meters high rock, rising 1,402 meters above the Yosemite Valley. And towers are more than 600 meters above the Nevada waterfall. This makes the waterfall look remarkably small. Liberty Cap shows what the immense erosion has done here. If you see both, you will see typical Yosemite: rugged nature.

These two waterfalls are close to each other. Vernal Fall is 97 feet high, while Nevada Fall is 181 feet high. They both drop their water in the Yosemite Valley. From Nevada Fall you can walk to Vernal Fall. You can swim in the ice-cold water of both.



Bridalveil Fall

This is the park’s other famous waterfall. It is 188 meters high and falls from the edge of the canyon into the Yosemite Valley. The action of a former glacier can be clearly seen in the U-shape of the canyon. Unlike Yosemite Falls, this waterfall can be seen all year round.

There's another benefit to having a Yosemite or National Parks pass: on busy summer weekends when traffic is backed up dozens deep at the entrance gates, the park service will frequently set up a special lane just for pass holders to use so they can buzz straight into the park past the carloads of visitors trying to find change for and get advice from the entrance-booth attendants.

(Imagine that the checkout line at the grocery store extends to the back of the building, and everyone in front of you is a little old lady with a month's worth of groceries in the cart, and each one of them is paying by check, arguing over half a dozen expired coupons, and buying three or four mysterious items that don't scan and require a bagger be sent off to look up the price. Imagine this, and you'll know what it's like entering Yosemite on Fourth of July weekend without a pass.)
