The voter registration period is set to commence from February 12, 2024, until September 30, 2024, giving eligible citizens ample time to ensure their voices are heard in the upcoming elections. However, there will be no Voter's registration on March 28, 29, 30, 2024 (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Black Saturday).

Here are the location for voter registration:

Office of the Election Officer in Your Area: Visit the designated Election Officer's office in your locality to begin the registration process.

Register Anywhere Program (RAP) Sites: Look out for RAP sites designated for convenient voter registration.

Satellite or Mall Registration Sites: Keep an eye out for registration booths set up in malls and satellite sites across your city.

In Taguig, Comelec has assigned a satellite office located at Vista Mall Parking Building.

Who May Register?

Any Filipino citizen who is NOT yet a registered voter may apply for registration, provided they meet the following qualifications:

Age Requirement: Must be at least eighteen (18) years old on the day of the National and Local Elections.
Residency: Must be a resident of the Philippines for at least one (1) year and in the place where they propose to vote for at least six (6) months immediately preceding the National and Local Elections.
Disqualification: Must not be otherwise disqualified by law.

Procedure for Registration

STEP 1 Identification: Present a valid identification document to the registration staff.

STEP 2 Interview: Be prepared for an interview conducted by the registration staff to verify your eligibility.

STEP 3 Application Form: Fill out the application form (CEF-1) accurately and completely.

STEP 4 Checking and Verification: Registration staff will check and verify the accomplished application form.

As the country gears up for the 2025 National and Local Elections, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announces the commencement of the Voter Registration period starting on February 12, 2024, and will run until September 30, 2024.

To participate in this crucial democratic process, eligible individuals are encouraged to register at their respective Election Officer's Office in their area.

If you missed to vote from last 2 consecutive elections and got deactivated, here's how to reactivate your voter registration.

Voter Registration for 2025 Elections

Registration Period: The voter registration period spans from February 12, 2024, to September 30, 2024.

Fill out the CEF-1 online form
Print the CEF-1 on a long bond paper back-to-back. Do not sign or affix your thumbmark on the application forms just yet since this must be done in the presence of the Election Officer
Bring the physical CEF-1 form and a valid government ID with signature on your visit to the local COMELEC office or RAP site

Remember: Accomplishing the online form does not automatically make you a registered voter. You still have to personally appear at your local COMELEC office or RAP site.

In Makati City, obtaining this certificate is often a prerequisite for various transactions, including applications for the Makati Yellow Card. Since COMELEC stopped issuing PVC voter ID cards in 2017, the Voter Certification has become the official proof of voter registration.

This guide provides a detailed, step-by-step process to secure your Voter Certification in Makati.

What is a Voter Certification?

A Voter Certification is an official document from COMELEC confirming that you are a registered and active voter in a specific precinct within a city or municipality. Registration will be conducted in all local Offices of the Election Officer (OEO) across the country from Mondays to Saturdays, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including satellite registration sites announced by local COMELEC offices.

The SIM Card Registration Act or RA 11934 mandates all SIM card users, both existing and new, to register their SIM cards with their respective telecommunications providers starting December 27, 2022.

All local SIM cards, including eSIMs, are covered by the SIM Card Registration Act. All SIM card owners are required to register their SIM cards within 180 days from the date of the law’s effectivity. Failure to register your current or new SIM card within the specified period will result in deactivation, making it useless for voice calls, internet access, text messaging, and other mobile services. Active Prepaid subscribers, prior to the start of SIM registration (December 27, 2022), have a deadline of April 26, 2023, to register their SIMs. If you fail to register within the period specified, your SIM will be deactivated automatically.

Therefore, you cannot use the SIM for calls, texts, and mobile data. However, a deactivated Prepaid SIM card will be given a 5-day grace period to register and get reactivated.

On April 25, 2023, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. approved the 90-day SIM registration extension.

Go to your respective telco’s SIM card registration website.

Enter your 10-digit mobile number (ex. 9191234567) and click the “Register” button.
If your SIM card is eligible for registration, you will be sent a One Time PIN (OTP) text message on your phone.

For those with Mobile Prepaid Pocket WiFi or Home Prepaid WiFi devices, you would need to enter your device’s modem dashboard to access the inbox where you can find the OPT text message.

Enter the OTP on the registration website. Take note that OTPs have an expiration date.
Once your OTP has been validated, you can continue with the registration.
Enter all the needed information: Full name, Date of Birth, Gender, Address, and Nationality.

All three telcos have outlined their respective methods for registering SIM cards. Luckily, they all have the same processes, with some minor differences. Here’s how to do it.

Go to your respective telco’s SIM card registration website.

Enter your 10-digit mobile number (ex. 9191234567) and click the “Register” button.
If your SIM card is eligible for registration, you will be sent a One Time PIN (OTP) text message on your phone.

For those with Mobile Prepaid Pocket WiFi or Home Prepaid WiFi devices, you would need to enter your device’s modem dashboard to access the inbox where you can find the OPT text message.
