A relaxing place in Batangas, just 3-4 hours away from Manila.

To extend the celebration of the New Year (supposed to be my birthday celebration), me, my family and friends traveled to San Juan, Batangas in the morning to visit this resort.

ABOUT CASA AMARA

Located in San Juan, Batangas, Casa Amara is a resort (or a beach house as per the owners) that has accommodations with a private pool, a balcony and pool views. The property has sea and mountain views with direct access to a patio, the air-conditioned villa consists of 2 bedrooms, flat-screen TV and more.

"Casa Amara" means "a house built in love" and is mainly owned and managed by Ms Gemma Luz Corotan-Kolb and Mr Klaus whom you can both see in the resort.

Watch the teaser here:

PRE-TRAVEL TIPS

  • Ready your cameras and gears because you will have a lot of picturesque and selfie-perfect spots from the whole resort.
  • The mobile network reception is very poor which means that you won't be able to connect to the internet, social media or even just making a phone call or send a SMS. However, they do provide WIFI access, just ask them for assistance.
  • Best way to go to the venue is by bringing your own vehicle. I have not seen any review about doing a public commuting there unless you can contact someone in San Juan where you can rent a vehicle to bring you to the resort. Parking is available.
  • Bring your own food or take one of their meal packages (you can see the full list below) prior to going to the resort. There's a corkage per head if you will bring your own food.
  • Bring your best swimwear. They strictly not allowed other clothes aside from proper swimwear such as bikini, board shorts or rash guard.
  • No pets allowed as per the management but they have pets in the resort such as a dog and cats.
  • If you smoke, there are designated smoking areas.

THINGS TO BRING FOR CASA AMARA

Casa Amara has infinity pools and a Jacuzzi (from Sunrise villa which you need to book separately to have access to) that gives you an amazing view of the the Tayabas Sea in the south.

Although it is not big compare to other resorts in Batangas, Casa Amara gives you the Santorini vibe with its white and blue color theme of the place is soothing to the eyes and the interior designs are astonishingly elegant.

MY REVIEW

As per the owners, Casa Amara is not really a hotel or a resort and is more of a beach house managed and maintained by a small team of staff. However, the vibe here is like you are staying at a resort-hotel although you will also notice that the whole venue is decorated with flowers, plants and Christmas décor.

Their balcony gives you a perfect overlooking view of the sea and mountain ridge. With these romantic stuff, I can say that a small wedding is perfect here!

Going to Casa Amara is quite easy and a bit hard. Why? The Municipality of San Juan is just a about 3 to 4 hours away from Metro Manila and getting there is easy because of the expressways that connect both places.

The hard part is finding the exact roads ahead to resort. Once you are in the Laiya Road of San Juan, you have to find the narrow road that leads to Casa Amara.

The best landmark is the corner road where Rosebelle Lomi House and Eatery (where we had our lunch prior to checking in) is located at.

The good news is you can get exact directions from Google Maps and Waze app. :D

Regarding their food, we took their buffet package that includes dinner and breakfast the next day (you can see the full list below) which costs us P1,100 per head. It is very convenient since we wouldn't need to drive just to find a place to eat at night and in the morning or to bring our own food which can be spoiled in due time.

Their food is good. We had a full meal on both dinner and breakfast. I was just quite disappointed when I went back for another plate of dishes on our dinner they're empty because it was a BUFFET. :(

However, the next morning I was able to get a second plate, finally and at least! By the way, their coffee tastes good, too!

I really love the view here from sunrise to sunset, it gives you a spectacular horizon view of the sea and the sky. On a clear day at Casa Amara, the blue sea and sky merge together as if one and presents the universe as it really is.

Their pool is accessible 24 hours. We had our first dip on our first night, it looked like we own the whole swimming pool since the other guests did not join us.

The following morning, we took off the beach which is quite challenging to traverse and hike back. Then took another dip to the pool before we check out. Again, our team is alone in the pool.

Going to the beach is a must! It gives you serenity since it is not crowded. I noticed that only Casa Amara's guests are strolling their although there are residences down there.

Go to the rock formation, too. It gives you another view of the beach and perfect for selfies. :) Just be cautious if will plan to step on the edgy rocks since it can cause accidents there.

To sum it up, our experience of stay here is very nice, relaxing and fun. I would love to go back here if given a chance.
