MIAA announced a hold of flights.

The Manila International Airport Authority has put all flights on hold following Taal volcano's ash explosion on Sunday.

"Due to the eruption of the Taal Volcano, all flights, both arrival and departures are now on hold. Passengers are advised to coordinate with their respective airlines for flight updates," the MIAA said on its official Facebook page at around 6 p.m.

Taal spewed a giant ash column over a kilometer into the air Sunday afternoon, prompting the state seismology bureau to raise alert level 3 over the volcanic island and the evacuation of residents living near it.
