SM Aura Premier reimagines Sky Park

Supporting the many food establishments located inside this upscale mall in BGC, SM Aura Premier transformed sections of its Skypark at the 5th Level into safe outdoor dining areas.

There, customers have the opportunity to keep enjoying the food they missed during strict lockdowns while feeling secure that the mall has their best interest in mind.

The Skypark Courtyard, a section on the other end of the Skypark which is nearer Ramen Nagi, Mesa, Yabu, and the like, takes a more minimalist chic approach. Fully open-air rectangular gazebos are dressed up for that stylish, LA-feel.

Apart from providing picture-perfect spaces, SM Aura Premier also encouraged restaurants to have their own outdoor dining set-ups. Prego, Barcino, and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf all have alfresco tables for their dining customers.

Down at the Upper Ground Level, SM Aura Premier did not forget their walking and biking community. They have set up the Pocket Park which is conveniently located just outside Starbucks, Providore, and Cibo.

This open-air area allows the walking community to quickly grab a coffee or a meal and sit comfortably without walking going inside the mall. The biking community has even more reasons to make use of the Pocket Park as it already has bike racks for bike-riding customers to park and dine right next to their beloved ride.

However, COVID-19 pandemic started to restrict people to go out and go malling. Since then, McKinley Hill just like the other townships and malls in the Philippines shut down business during the stricter community quarantine. 

Now that we have vaccine to fight COVID-19 and that we are very knowledgeable on how to avoid it, we try and strive to live normally. 

Thanks to this "outdoor dining" or "al fresco dining" ideas, we can now enjoy eating at our favorite restaurants. 


It's even more nicer to see McKinley Hill, its Venice Grand Canal Mall and Venice Piazza with their setup of al fresco areas where people can now sit and dine while following safety and health protocols from the government.

The Upper McKinley Road is closed every weekend to encourage people to do outdoor activities such as jogging, biking and strolling.

The iconic Ayala Malls in Makati are currently undergoing a massive transformation, with a P17.5-billion reinvestment plan set to reimagine Greenbelt and Glorietta into world-class destinations. This ambitious project aims to blend style, comfort, and cutting-edge retail with improved urban connectivity, promising a more refined and integrated experience for shoppers and city dwellers alike.



Ayala Malls Chief Operating Officer Paul Birkett and Ayala Land Senior Vice President Mariana Zobel de Ayala recently unveiled the details of the "reimagination," which goes beyond a simple facelift. The plan is to create a unified Glorietta, Greenbelt, and One Ayala complex that prioritizes pedestrian movement and seamless transport integration.



Glorietta's Grand Refresh

As part of its revitalization, Glorietta is being refreshed with modern interiors and a redesigned Grand Mall façade. A key element of the plan is the transformation of the familiar Glorietta 4 Park into a lively new plaza with dedicated al fresco dining areas.


This move is part of a broader effort to pedestrianize familiar roads and create a more walkable city center.




Greenbelt's Luxury Evolution

Known as the premier luxury destination, Greenbelt is further elevating its status with a curated mix of new-to-market international brands. Recent additions include luxury fashion houses like Golden Goose, Alo Yoga, Sandro, Maje, and Alice + Olivia.

The redevelopment also promises a new nightlife destination, T:28, at Greenbelt 2, offering curated culinary and mixology experiences. The redevelopment of Greenbelt 1, which closed in April 2024, is scheduled to be completed by 2028 and will become a new, modern structure with a focus on premium retail and sustainable design.

  • Elevated Entertainment and Dining: Malls like TriNoma are getting upgraded with Giant Screen cinemas and Dolby Atmos theaters, while both Greenbelt and Glorietta are set for a culinary refresh with new dining concepts.

  • Sustainability: The renovations will incorporate sustainable features such as natural ventilation, energy-efficient systems, and wider corridors to enhance occupant well-being. The company is even recycling demolition debris from Greenbelt 1 into new construction materials.




The large-scale revitalization of Makati's retail heart is a bold statement about Ayala Land's long-term strategy. Alabang Town Center Al Fresco Areas

The Corte, the Town's Mediterranean-inspired courtyard, invites you to take leisurely walks while enjoying the seamless blend of natural elements with retail, dining, and entertainment.

With its multiple al fresco areas, Alabang Town Center’s engaging spaces add to the homey ambiance that befits its community’s lifestyle.


It has a total 48,000 m2 (520,000 sq ft) of retail space and has a number of high-end retail stores including Rustan's Department Store and a number of high-end brands, including Marks & Spencer and The Gap.

Another major tenant of the mall is the passport office of the Department of Foreign Affairs located on the fourth level of the Metro Department Store which opened in August 2013.

Alabang Town Center caters to the retail needs of citizens living in southern Metro Manila, particularly those from Las Piñas, Parañaque, and Muntinlupa.

Alabang Town Center opened in 1982 as a strip mall with a supermarket and two cinemas that had the St. Jerome Emiliani and Sta. Susana Parish, a Roman Catholic church which was built in the 1970s, as its anchor tenant. The mall was expanded in 1994 and 2007 and became a cosmopolitan Mediterranean-designed, airy lifestyle center.

In February 2011, expansion of Alabang center was underway incorporating Metro, which is known for its comfortable and friendly retail outlets all over the country. The four-level Metro replaced the open parking lot near McDonald's housing a department store, a grocery store, and basement parking. Construction commenced last October 20 and the Metro opened in 2012. A new wing linking the Metro became operational late 2011 in which 70 new stores were opened.

In 2012, there was an expansion and a new wing known as the lifestyle strip saw many restaurants, stores, and shops added. The same year, restaurants outside at the Corte de las Palmas, such as Chili's, Jamba Juice and Krispy Kreme were opened.


The Metro supermarket opened on August 11, 2012, while their department store opened on August 18, 2012. Parking was also opened to Metro and ATC customers.

In 2015, the ATC Corporate Center, an office building integrated with the mall, was opened. In 2016, there are further plans for redevelopment which will include a new Lifestyle Centre.
