PhilHealth LHIO Schedule

The office hours of a PhilHealth LHIO are 8AM to 5PM following the government mandate. They operate on weekdays only from Monday to Friday.


What to Bring & to Wear

When visiting a PhilHealth office, it is recommended to wear your best casual attire, a shirt on top and pants for men, women can also wear skirts below knee. Wearing t-shirts with long or short sleeves is also allowed. Wearing of sando, shorts and any type of slippers are prohibited.

When you visit and transact to any government offices in the Philippines, it's always best to be ready at all times. Ready your pen (preferably with black ink) since you are expected to fill out and sign forms, your documents (and photocopies) and cash for payments (some government offices do accept card payments and digital payment like GCash).

I suggest you to bring a bottle of water and some snacks such as crackers and candies since you might be waiting long in line or for the process of your transaction or document.

Agusan Del Norte History


Spanish and American era
Prior to its creation as an independent province, Agusan, as it was once undivided, was under the jurisdiction of Surigao province during the Spanish colonial period. In 1907, Agusan was separated from Surigao by the American government, creating the Agusan province.

World War II
During World War II in 1942, the Japanese Imperial forces landed in Northern Agusan.

In 1945, Filipino soldiers of the 6th, 10th, 101st, 102nd, 103rd, 107th and 110th Infantry Division of the Philippine Commonwealth Army and the 10th Infantry Regiment of the Philippine Constabulary together with the recognized Agusan guerrilla fighter units against the Japanese forces beginning the liberation in Northern Agusan during World War II.

During the war, a unit of the joint Philippine-American defense force were located at Manot, Talacogon, in the interior of the Agusan Valley.

Independence
In 1967, Republic Act 4979 divided Agusan into two independent provinces: Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur.

On August 16, 2000, the seat of provincial government was transferred from Butuan City to Cabadbaran through Republic Act 8811, although the province is yet to complete the transfer of provincial services and functions to the new capital.

How to Get to Agusan Del Norte

The nearest airport and seaport is in Butuan City.

By Plane
A domestic airport in Bancasi can get you to Butuan from Manila (one hour) or Cebu (45 minutes) either by Cebu Pacific or Philippine airlines.

By Boat
You can reach the city from the port in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte for about 26 minutes, aside from other ports in Cebu and Bohol. There also bus routes to Davao or Surigao from Manila which can get you to the city -- this would perhaps be the cheapest way to travel but it will take you three excruciating days sitting on the bus seat and being loading and unloaded to about three of four RoRo of Roll On Roll Off ports.

By Land
If coming from Mindanao neighboring cities, Butuan City is accessible by bus, hired van, or private vehicle. Butuan City is accessible via Davao City from the south, Cagayan de Oro City from the west, and Surigao City from the north. The bus company that caters trip in and out of Butuan is Bachelor Express, Surigao Liner, and etc. A van can be also hired towards Butuan City.


Best Time to Visit Agusan Del Norte

The climate in this province is with a significant rainfall. Even in the driest month there is a lot of rain. According to Köppen and Geiger, this climate is classified as Af.

One of the best times to go there is on every 2nd week of January when the province celebrates the Saging Festival, an Agri Fair highlighting the bounties of Buenavista which are bananas.
