Tuka Marine Park in Kiamba, Sarangani is a true marvel for everyone who finds joy in exploring the life underneath the seas.

It is a marine sanctuary that boasts colorful and rich marine biodiversity that has been thriving for years through the protection and conservation efforts of the community surrounding it.

The town of Kiamba is already a haven of unforgettable and worthwhile experiences, in fact, it is known to be the paradise of the province. But Tuka Marine Park stands out from the rest, wowing every single guest with an unmatched beauty of the coastlines and the life underwater. 

Tuka Marine Sanctuary is strictly regulated by the local government of Kiamba. Access to this place is regulated by the Kiamba local tourism office.

WHAT TO BRING IN SARANGANI

Here are some things you might consider bringing with you for your day tour / adventure:

HOW TO GET TO TUKA MARINE LIFE

1. From General Santos City, ride a bus or van bound to Kiamba around 1 hour and 30 mins travel time. If you prefer to ride a bus go to Bulaong Integrated Terminal but if you prefer riding a van, go to Ablog Terminal. All terminals are known to local tricycle drivers in General Santos City.
Van Fare ₱120

2. From Kiamba ride a tricycle tell the driver to drive you to the tourism office. Just tell them you are going to TUKA MARINE PARK.
Note: malapit lang sa Munisipyo yung port going to Tuka.
Fare ₱8.00

3. At the tourism office you can register and wait for a bangka to take you to Tuka Marine Park (average travel time of 15-20 minutes).
Tip: morning is the best time to arrive at Kiamba tourism office kasi around 11-3pm lowtide na pahirapan sa pagsakay! maliban na lang if gusto nyo sumakay sa flat boat 🚤

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS ISLAND

Going here is a total island life. Expect the following:
  • 🌊 No Signal
  • 🌊 the island life vibe
  • 🌊 Sunset 🌅( sorry walang sunrise dito)
  • 🌊 the marine life (first time ko nakakita ng mga ganong klaseng isda. Ang lalaki promise ung tipong pang-ulam na! 😊)

TRAVEL TIPS TO TUKA MARINE LIFE

  • Always check the weather para iwas aberya papuntang Tuka Marine Park
  • Magdala ng foods since malayo sa kabihasnan ang island
  • Magdala ng snorkelling apparatus if meron ka para want to sawa ang meet and greet with the fishes. Yes! Available naman ung Snorkel + vest rental sa island ₱150 for 3 hrs only!
  • Bring lots of ice, food and drinking water since mahal ang bilihin sa tiangge nila Aling Vicky!
  • Bring your basura with you pauwi from the island para makuha mo ung ₱200 na garbage deposit sa tourism office
  • Explore the neighbouring islands pag low tide
  • You can climb the hill located sa right side ng island for a better aerial view ng Tuka Marine park
  • HAVE FUN AND ALWAYS BE A RESPONSIBLE TOURIST/TRAVELER “BASURA MO, SAGOT MO!”
