Motorists will be able to access a portion of the multi-billion Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 (SS3), with the scheduled opening of the Plaza Dilao ramp in Manila this month, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Friday.

On the sidelines of the inspection on the road project, Public Works Secretary Mark Villar said the construction of the 18.68-km. SS3 is in full blast after all right-of-way issues have been settled and only 25 out of 494 substructure works remain under construction.
“Around 5 percent remains. So in terms of completion, our target is by the end of the year, the Skyway will be substantially complete,” Villar said.
Once completed, the SS3 will connect the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Buendia, Makati City to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Balintawak, Quezon City, reducing a two-hour drive to about 20 minutes.
With this, he reported that two sections of the project are now more than 80 percent completed.
“Section 1 from Buendia Ave. in Makati City to Quirino Ave. in Nagtahan, Manila is now 83 percent completed, while Section 3 from Ramon Magsaysay Ave. to Balintawak is 81 percent completed,” Villar added.
“We’re projecting (that) as much as 100,000 cars a day will use the skyway (instead of Edsa). So, it will be a big relief,” he said.

The Plaza Dilao exit of the SS3 will be toll-free until such time the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) decides on its toll, he said.
He said that other sections are also being fast-tracked to ensure the Skyway’s mainline from Buendia to Balintawak meets the target completion date by the first quarter of 2020.
The soon-to-open stretch of the SS3 will only be open to light vehicles, with no plans yet of opening the skyway to cargo trucks and other heavy vehicles.
The public works chief also said the project was seismic rated, built to resist earthquakes.
“Our projection was it could withstand (a quake of) up to (magnitude) 8,” Villar said.

ATTRACTIONS TO SEE IN MANILA
Klook.comThe Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 project spans three cities, Makati, Manila, and Quezon City. It is an 18.68-km. elevated expressway stretched over Metro Manila from Buendia, Makati City to Balintawak, Quezon City.
Interchanges are also strategically located in E. Rodriguez Ave. (Quezon City), Quezon Ave. (Quezon City), Sgt. Rivera St. (Quezon City), and NLEX.
Eight ramps in crucial areas of Metro Manila will connect the project to the rest of the city. These ramps are distributed among the eight sections of the project: Buendia/Makati to Quirino to Nagtahan (3.76 km.); Nagtahan to Aurora Blvd./Ramon Magsaysay Ave. (6.19 km.); Nagtahan to Tomas Claudio (0.96 km.); Tomas Claudio to PUP Sta. Mesa (1.30 km.); Tomas Claudio to Ramon Magsaysay Ave. (3.93 km.); Ramon Magsaysay Ave. to Quezon Ave. (2.71 km.); Quezon Ave. to Balintawak (4.46 km.); and Balintawak to NLEX (1.56 km.).
Last year, the DPWH opened the three-lane, northbound direction of Skyway Stage 3 from Buendia Ave. up to near Java St. in Makati City.
It allows motorists to exit a kilometer further along South Super Highway instead of using Buendia as an off-ramp.
Villar said the project will help realize President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s challenge of a five-minute travel time from Makati to Cubao by December.
“This is from Makati to Quezon City area, which is around the area of Cubao. The first exit is Manila, the next exit is already Aurora. From Makati to Aurora is less than five minutes,” he said.
Villar said the SS3 will be a big part of the decongestion plans in Metro Manila but is only one of the “Build, Build, Build” projects in the capital.
“This is not the only project lined up for decongestion. There’s the NLEX-SLEX connector, the C6, the C5 Southlink, then there are the bridges across Pasig River. So we still have a lot of plans for easing traffic. The vision of the President decongesting Manila is at hand,” Villar said.

Travel between Taguig and Parañaque/Pasay has become significantly quicker with the opening of a portion of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corp.’s (MPTC) South Link Expressway.
This newly accessible stretch, known as Segment 3A1 of the C5 South Link Expressway, covers 2.2 kilometers from CP Garcia in Taguig City to Sucat in Parañaque City.

Motorists can now traverse this route in just under three minutes, providing a substantial reduction in travel time between the two cities. The partial opening of this expressway on Tuesday, July 23, marks a significant milestone in improving transportation efficiency in the area.
The entire C5 South Link project, spanning 7.7 kilometers and costing P11 billion, aims to seamlessly connect C5 Road to the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEx). The recently opened flyover alone accounts for P1.6 billion of this investment.
Once completed, the C5 South Link will create a smooth connection between C5 and CAVITEx via Merville and Sucat, benefiting commuters and motorists alike. With a target completion date set for the last quarter of 2021, the project is expected to serve approximately 50,000 vehicles, enhancing accessibility for residents and travelers in key areas of Metro Manila, including Makati, Taguig, Las Piñas, Pasay, and Parañaque, as well as those utilizing EDSA, Sales, and East and West Service Roads.

Work occupies a significant portion of our lives, influencing our well-being and happiness.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes the importance of fostering positive workplace environments conducive to employee happiness and mental health. Here are 10 workplace rules recommended by WHO for cultivating a happier and more fulfilling work life:
Loading...
1. Trust no one, but respect everyone.
Cultivate an environment of mutual respect among colleagues, even while maintaining healthy skepticism. Trust is earned through respect and integrity.
2. What happens in office, remain in office.
Keep office discussions and gossip within the workplace. Avoid carrying office gossip home, and vice versa, to maintain professionalism and privacy.
3. Enter office on time, leave on time.
Arrive at work on time and leave on time. Prioritize work-life balance and avoid overextending your time at the office, as prolonged hours may impact your health and well-being.
4. Never make Relationships in the work place.
While workplace camaraderie is valuable, be mindful of developing romantic relationships or deep personal connections in the office, as they can complicate professional dynamics.
5. Expect nothing. If somebody helps, feel thankful.
Appreciate the support and assistance provided by colleagues. Express gratitude for help received and embrace self-reliance for personal growth.
6. Never rush for a position.
Strive for personal development and growth rather than fixating on job titles or promotions. Your value lies in your skills, knowledge, and character, not just your position.
7. Never run behind office stuff.
Remember that work is just one aspect of life. Pursue hobbies, interests, and relationships outside of work to maintain a healthy balance and fulfillment in life.
8. Avoid taking everything on your ego.
Avoid letting your ego dictate your interactions and decisions at work. Focus on leveraging your skills and abilities for the collective success of the team.
9. It doesn't matter how people treat you.
Accept that not everyone will appreciate or understand you. Stay humble and maintain grace in the face of adversity or criticism.
10. In the end nothing matters except family, friends, home and inner peace.
Ultimately, prioritize the things that truly matter in life – family, friends, home, and inner peace. These are the foundations of happiness and fulfillment that extend beyond the workplace.
By embracing these workplace rules recommended by the World Health Organization, individuals can strive for greater happiness, balance, and fulfillment in their professional and personal lives. Let these principles guide your interactions, decisions, and priorities in the workplace and beyond.
Look at the "new" Manila today!
Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso has bravely and boldly "clean-up" some of the streets in the city of Manila. It's been a few weeks since a new administration took over the streets of the city. The newly elected Manila Mayor have taken all the attention throughout the news and social media because of his recent works - "Paliguan ang Maynila".
Surprisingly, he and his team have managed to cleanup one of the "dirty" and chaotic streets of Divisoria.

The Recto Shopping Center area has also been cleared up, and even the private vehicles parked along the side seems to have disappeared. The trucks on the side though are still present, but we guess everything has a limit!
The question now is: can Isko Moreno sustain this kind of action for Manila?

WHAT IS BETTER ADSENSE? AND HOW IT AFFECTS YOUR PUBLISHING?
The Coalition for Better Ads announced the "Better Ads Experience Program." This Program provides guidelines for companies like Google on how they can use the Better Ads Standards to help improve users' experience with ads on the web.
In June, we announced Chrome's plans to support the Better Ads Standards in early 2018. Violations of the Standards are reported to sites via the Ad Experience Report, and site owners can submit their site for re-review once the violations have been fixed. Starting on February 15, in line with the Coalition's guidelines, Chrome will remove all ads from sites that have a "failing" status in the Ad Experience Report for more than 30 days. All of this information can be found in the Ad Experience Report Help Center, and our product forums are available to help address any questions or feedback.
We look forward to continuing to work with industry bodies to improve the user experience for everyone.

On its website, Teco said the privilege was extended up to July 31, 2020. The visa-free privilege was supposed to expire on July 31 this year.
As of writing, there are 66 Visa-Free Countries For Philippine Passport Holders

The visa-free privilege was first implemented in 2017 and immediately reflected an increase in the number of Filipinos visiting Taiwan.
According to Teco, Filipinos may enter Taiwan without a visa for up to 14 days. This, however, cannot be extended.

Filipino travelers also have to meet the following requirements for Free Visa in Taiwan:

- Possess an ordinary/regular passport with remaining validity of at least six months from the date of entry
- Hold a confirmed return plane or boat ticket, or a confirmed plane or boat ticket, along with a valid visa, for an onward destination
- Provide the confirmation of hotel reservations or an address and contact details for their stay in Taiwan, as well as a financial statement
- Have a clean criminal record, as verified by immigration upon arrival at an airport or seaport in Taiwan
- Teco explained that the extension of the visa-free privilege “is a display of Taiwan’s amity with the Philippines as the country continues to boost the travel convenience for Filipinos to visit Taiwan for leisure, business, or other short-term purposes,” adding that the privilege seeks to deepen Taiwan’s relationship with the Philippines in various fields
“The Philippines is not only Taiwan’s closest neighbor but also a priority partner for Taiwan’s ‘New Southbound Policy’ which aims to build stronger bilateral relations and closer people-to-people connectivity with its neighboring countries in the region,” Teco said.
