Sunflower Fields in Metro Manila

You are residing or traveling for work in Metro Manila and you wanted to relieve your hectic week with a refreshing view amidst the bustling cities? Here are some of the places you can drop by to destress yourself with sunflowers:

Ayala Triangle Gardens (Makati)

Yes! This busy city has a little treat this summer. A little space in Ayala Triangle Gardens houses a few sunflower in the city.

Although it's not that huge like what Pangasinan and Quezon have, you can still do a close up selfies with these sunflowers.

Rainforest Park (Pasig)

Pasig is known as "The Green City" in the metro. No wonder that it has a Rainforest Park where you can see a sunflower field.

A post shared by Pasig City (@tagapasigkami) on

The park is somewhat comparable to Quezon City’s La Mesa Eco Park, Pangasinan’s Sunflower Maze and Baguio’s Wright Park to name some. Making it a combination of several theme parks in one.

UP Diliman (Quezon City)

The rows of sunflowers blooming along University Avenue near the oval have become part of an annual graduation tradition ever since the 80s.

University Avenue

These flowers bloom around the same time the students graduate—formerly, around April, but UP shifted their academic calendar and the experts in the University of the Philippines Diliman Campus Maintenance Office (UPD CMO) found a way for these flowers to bloom during the rainy season (around June), which is also when the students graduate. These sunflowers have become a symbol of hope for the graduating students, something they look forward to through all those sleepless and restless nights and days while working on every academic requirement.

Sunflower Fields and Farms in CALABARZON

Here are some of the known sunflower farms you can visit around Region-4A:

Celossian Flower Farm (Baras, Rizal)

The Celossian Flower Farm is located in the town of Baras, Rizal, about 47 KM from Metro Manila. As the farm’s name suggests, this particular flower farm is home to celosia, a type of flower that features large flame-shaped petals and bright red and yellow colors.

Aside from its attractive appearance, the celosia is special as it blooms only once per year. This flower typically grows in humid areas, so the country’s climate is an ideal place for it to thrive. Other known names of celosia include cockscomb and woolflower.

SunFlora Farm (Jalajala, Rizal)

Established in 2018 in Jalajala, Rizal, SunFlora Farm offers delightful and vibrant sunflower landscapes perfect for selfies and groufies with friends and family.

SunFlora Farm

Guests are allowed to take home sunflower cuttings for only ₱100! Additionally, they provide a variety of handmade souvenirs, such as knitted hats, keychains, and accessories inspired by their golden sunflowers.

Angel's Sunflower Field (Candelaria, Quezon)

Found in Barangay Masin Sur, Candelaria, QuezonGirasoles Farm (formerly known as Angel's Sunflower Field) boasts its vast field of sunflower.

Both are truly beautiful and amazing! Many are really visiting both sites just to have their perfect summer selfies!

Sunshine Farm (Tiaong, Quezon)

Situated in Barangay Lai, Tiaong Quezon, Sunshine Farm is one of the most distinct flower-themed attractions in the country. It’s home to thousands of sunflowers, so it’s no wonder that this farm has become a favorite setting for special occasions like birthdays and weddings.

Sunshine Farm

Sunshine Farm’s founder, Rhodora Palomar-Fresnedi, opened the farm to visitors in February 2018. The farm is home to thousands of sunflowers, which is a symbol of life and happiness. Aside from being a picturesque attraction, there is a meaningful cause behind the farm’s establishment.

Sunflower Maze (Tayug, Pangasinan)

The province’s Sunflower Maze is considered to be a pioneer landscape design in the Philippines. It is a creation of landscape designer Toni Rivera and sits in a 3- hectare property also called Tayug Eco Park.

Sunflower Maze

The giant maze is composed of about 8,000 large sunflower plants. The maze itself looks like a sunflower from above. The maze can accommodate 100 people at a given time.

There's probably more to see in the whole country. There are sunflower fields in the northern portion of Luzon Island, Cebu and even in Mindanao. For this list, I highlighted the ones near Metro Manila and where to find them:
  • Ayala Triangle Gardens (Makati)
  • Rainforest Park (Pasig)
  • UP Diliman (Quezon City)
  • Celossian Flower Farm (Baras, Rizal)
  • SunFlora Farm (Jalajala, Rizal)
  • Angel's Sunflower Field (Candelaria, Quezon)

Learn About Sunflower At This Eco Farm In Tayug

The Tayug Sunflower Eco Park, located in C. Lichauco, is a haven for those who can’t get enough flowers. The park, as the name implies, is home to thousands of flowers, but not all are sunflowers. There are also marigolds, petunia, celosia beds, and other ornamental plants here. There are also various types of vegetables in the park that you can pick and harvest for a fee.

The sunflowers are planted continuously throughout the year, so you can be sure that there will be blooms no matter when you visit. You can even bring a piece of the experience home with you because the eco-park sells potted and blooming flowers such as zinnias, torenia, and sunflowers.

Get Enchanted In This Cave In Bolinao

The Enchanted Cave in Bolinao is a great place to cool off if you’re in Pangasinan during the summer. A pool of clear natural freshwater with an estimated maximum depth of 6ft is located inside, making it ideal for a refreshing swim. It is situated in a park close to Patar Beach.

Many locals believed that Bolinao was underwater millions of years ago, enchanting the cave. You will be amazed by the presence of coral rocks and fossilized clams in the area, many of which you’ll see on your way to the cave entrance. The fact that the Enchanted Cave in Bolinao is made of coral limestone lends credence to this theory. This history distinguishes the cave and contributes to its popularity as a tourist destination.
