The Manila Hotel, in partnership with the Intramuros Administration, has pilot-tested the Visita Intramuros, a tour of the famous walled city, coinciding with the 121st Philippine Independence Day on Wednesday to reintroduce the place and prominent sites around it as part of Manila's tourist belt.
ABOUT INTRAMUROS
Called as the Walled City during the Spanish colonization. This historical landmark is now home to famous schools and universities (Lyceum, Letran, Mapua, Manila High School, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, and Colegio de Sta. Rosa) as well as historical landmarks and tourist spots (Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church, Casa Manila, etc.)"The original tourist belt is the Ermita-Malate-Sta. Cruz-Quiapo-Binondo area. If we can revive this tourist belt, we could once again establish the capital as an attraction," Manila Hotel president Joey Lina said.
Reintroducing Intramuros as an entry/starting point could also be a way to revive this once vibrant "tourism belt" of Manila, said the former senator.
Intramuros and Manila Hotel are both witnesses to significant events that shaped Philippine history and what the country is today.

BEFORE GOING TO GLAMPING ETC
Please note the following things you might consider before planning to go to Glamping ETC Philippines:
- Please note that like all the islands in Lake Lumot, our island and home are off grid. They have a generator that can be powered up for requests, they also have solar powered lights both inside the living spaces and around the pathways.
- It may be hot inside the dome on a summer's day (well, despite all it's magnificence, the Dome is still a fab tent) but Lumot is cooler than average and nights tend be cool enough for you to need a blanket (and 'cold' after summer).
- During the day, their guests love to splash in the lake and relax under the trees where the breeze is lovely. They have kayaks, body boards ,life vests, floating islands which you can use for free.
- Evenings, are generally well spent relaxing by the lakeside in camping chairs watching the sunset with a bottle of wine and spending time with each other. Come night fall, we can arrange a bonfire so that you can get warm and mellow.
- For people that wish to spend some time alone, it would be best to book on a weekday where you can maybe have the whole place to yourself. The weekday rates are lower too!
- Breakfast (standard) is on the house for two people 7.30 AM - 9.30 AM), there is always drinking water, CRs are equipped with rain showers too.
- Kayaks, body boards, fishing rods, floaters , life vests (for sharing with other guests).
- Lunch, Dinner and Drinks are available from the island's kitchen and bar - they need to be ordered from a menu that you can choose from before you arrive.
- Meals are very reasonably priced since our intention is not to break your bank but keep temptation out of the way for critters. (Staff retires at 8 PM - requests for extension should be made in advance and should be reasonable.)
- Kindly note that though their staff will always try to accommodate requests, they will still need to kayak to mainland for any supplies and any requests should be made in advance.
- If there are other guests staying, kindly refrain from being noisy beyond 9 PM until day break in the areas that have guest accommodation.
