The church was made out of black coral stones. The church underwent series of natural and man-made calamities, such as the 1788 earthquake, 1819 fire incident, and Typhoon Emong in 2009.

FIRST MASS IN THE PHILIPPINES
Odoric did not return to Italy till the end of 1329 or the beginning of 1330; but, as regards intermediate dates, all that we can deduce from his narrative or other evidence is that he was in western India soon after 1321 (pretty certainly in 1322) and that he spent three years in China between the opening of 1323 and the close of 1328.
On one of his trips, his ship was nearly capsized by a typhoon but they landed safely in Bolinao, Pangasinan, Philippines. He is said to have held a Mass there, in around 1324. That would have pre-dated the Mass celebrated in 1521 by Ferdinand Magellan, which is generally regarded as the first Mass in the Philippines, by some 197 years.

However, historian William Henry Scott concluded after examining Odoric's writings about his travels that he likely never set foot on Philippine soil and, if he did, there is no reason to think that he celebrated Mass.

St. James the Great Parish
Bolinao, Pangasinan, was canonically erected in the year 1609 when the Augustinian Friars took over this mission territory which was earlier entrusted by the Spanish Colonial Government to the Dominican Friars in the year 1594 and left the place in the year 1607 due to the vastness of their mission territories and the scarcity of their missionary members.
The Church tower of Bolinao measuring seventy-five (75) feet was then the tallest in the whole Pangasinan if not in the entire Northern Luzon. However, an earthquake in 1788 toppled about half of it. Then in 1819, the Church Convent was also accidentally burned.

Generally, there are three main bus service providers who organize trips to Bolinao, Pangasinan. They offer both day and night services. You can make your bookings on an AC or non AC bus. It’s all up to you. You can just go directly or call these Bus operators listed below:

Travel time to Bolinao
It takes 5 to 6 hours to reach this town. If you are traveling by bus, stopovers would be at Dau, Tarlac, and Alaminos. Make sure to carry some food along with you. In order to get trip plans, ticket booking, and other important details, you might get in touch with the bus service providers. Upon reaching Bolinao town proper, you would have to take a tricycle in order to reach your hotel or resort.
By Private Car
It is one of the best and convenient ways to reach Bolinao. If you have your own car then you won’t have to worry about the time. You can tour around freely. You can take the Subic, Clark, and Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) route in order to view the scenic beauty of the landscapes of Bolinao.

I am writing this to share my experience in moving my blogspot to my own domain.
My blogger.com subdomain was approved for adding AdSense years ago. This month I decided to purchase a domain for my blog.

So I got my domain from Blogger through GoDaddy.com. The shift to the new domain was OK except that my Ads suddenly went blank. Then I went to adsense>account settings>sites authorized to show ads... then added my domain URL there - was this step a mistake??
Because my blog is hosted by blogger and i only purchased a domain for my blog. ads were perfectly showing with my blogspot.com url name.
Now on my adsense account it is showing this msg:
"In order to complete your request to show ads on your own website, please implement your ad code on a live page on the domain that you gave in the upgrade request form. Your upgrade request can only be reviewed once your ad code has impressions on that domain. Learn more"
So I looked for an answer online using this: "ads not showing on godaddy domain using blogger as host"
One advised this:
If your account was approved through an application from blogger, then your account is approved to host ads on a blogspot URL, not on your own domain.
In order for the ads to display on your own domain, you need to apply for a host account upgrade ... that's why the message is displaying in your account. If you followed all the steps required in the instructions to submit a host account upgrade, then you just need to wait for them to approve it so ads will display on your domain.
If your account was approved through an application from blogger, then your account is approved to host ads on a blogspot URL, not on your own domain.
In order for the ads to display on your own domain, you need to apply for a host account upgrade ... that's why the message is displaying in your account. If you followed all the steps required in the instructions to submit a host account upgrade, then you just need to wait for them to approve it so ads will display on your domain.

The message to place ad code in your site will continue to display until after the approval is complete (blogger's code from the gadgets is fine to use). The host account upgrade can take as long as a month to be completed.
I tried it so I tried following this: My ads>Other products
But there was no Upgrade now option. But there was this page that asking you to provide your domain then it will give you HTML Code that needs to be pasted on your site.
You go to blogger.com then Themes>Edit HTML
But when I tried putting in the code after <head>, I got this error message:

My Personal Experience
We headed to Bolinao after we had a day tour (mostly morning only) from the Hundred Islands in Alaminos. We took a van ride from a mall in Alaminos to take us straight to Bolinao.

Upon our arrival, we had a short walk around the town and visited the Bolinao Church also known as Saint James the Great Parish.
After having snacks and a walk tour, we took a tricycle to bring us to Cocos Beach Resort. We were welcomed by their staff and assisted us to our room.

Most of their rooms are facing beachfront. Rooms are airconditioned and have 2 beds. Each has its own veranda where you can chill or eat at.

The resort is known for having a low-tide beach which kid-friendly and perfect for non-swimmers. The view is spectacular during sunrise and sundown.
For those who prefer a nice swimming spot in Bolinao, I suggest you go to Patar Beach which has enough deep seawater compared to this area. But we prefer solitude since Patar Beach is usually crowded and more expensive to stay at.

And yes, this beach is a good spot for a magnificent sunset viewing!
The room we chose was for P1,500 a night. We checked in the afternoon and checked out at noon.

How To Get To Cocos Beach Resort
From Manila
- Catch a bus going to Bolinao. There are trips offered by Vitory Liner and 5-Star bus on a daily basis.
- Drop off Bolinao bus terminal.
- Go to the tricycle terminal across 5-Star bus. Ask them to bring you to Cocos Beach Resort.

- Languages: Aklanon and Ati are the native languages. But locals, especially those working in the tourism industry, can fluently speak and understand Tagalog and English.

BEST TIME TO VISIT BORACAY

Dry Season (November to April)

Commercial flights to both airports from Manila Domestic Airport usually last about an hour, and you can book them via Cebu Pacific Air, PAL Express, and AirAsia.
Once you arrive at the airport of your choice, you need to get to the jetty port to catch a boat to the island. From Caticlan Airport, it only takes a few minutes' tricycle ride to the jetty port. If you're coming from Kalibo, it takes about two hours via bus or van to reach the port.

HOW TO GET AROUND BORACAY
By Tricycle and Pedicab
Tricycles are the most common mode of transportation in Boracay. After your boat docks at Cagban Port, there are already numerous tricycles available to drop you off at your resort in Boracay. There are also pedicabs on the island, a non-motorized transportation alternative.
By Motorbike
For the adventurous, motorbikes or habal-habal (as they are locally known) are also available for rent if you feel like exploring Boracay at your own pace.
Important Things to Remember in Going to Boracay
International Travel: If you are traveling from another country, you would typically fly into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in Manila or Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) in Cebu City, both major international airports in the Philippines.
Domestic Flights to Caticlan or Kalibo: From Manila or Cebu, you will need to take a domestic flight to either Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (commonly known as Caticlan Airport) or Kalibo International Airport. These airports serve as the gateways to Boracay.
Caticlan Airport: Caticlan Airport is the closer airport to Boracay. From Caticlan Airport, take a tricycle or a short walk to Caticlan Jetty Port. From there, board a boat to Boracay Island. The boat ride takes around 10-15 minutes, and you'll arrive at Cagban Port in Boracay.
Kalibo International Airport: If you fly into Kalibo, you will need to take a bus or van from the airport to Caticlan Jetty Port, which takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. From Caticlan Jetty Port, take a boat to Boracay.
Boracay Island: Upon arrival in Boracay, you will likely disembark at Cagban Port or Tambisaan Port. From there, you can take a tricycle or a multicab to your accommodation.
