MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

Earlier today, me and the team KTMNL (Kain Tayo MNL) had a great and mesmerizing experience at this newly opened attraction inside Ever Gotesco in Commonwealth.

We got to see different of lights and art installation inside the two cinemas-turned-into-a-theme-park.

Entering Tales of Illumina

Upon entrance we were greeted by the staff and confirmed our reservation for the media preview. Another staff assisted us until we got into the first part of the tour. We were briefed in a bit before they opened the doors... then, boom! A magical vibe welcomed us as we walked into the first installation.

It was dark yet you will be guided with the pathways they've made for spontaneous experience. First room was already IG-worthy and we still have 30 more others to discover on.

Each room and attraction will also give you goosebumps with their surround sounds in the background.

The next space was like you were brought to fairy land. The following space awaits some of the known supernatural creatures in the Philippines, such as "Manananggal".

You'll even hear their voices and get to know more about them as they put a short information for each featured folklore.

Shortly, we reached one of my favorite rooms - witch craft! Plus, they serve free drinks here. Yup, you can even choose from 4 different flavors. We tried their recommended ones, peach mango and lemon.

There, we got to stay a little longer and took the free refreshments. The room is filled with witch craft materials that gives you a feel of Harry Potter.

Then we went up to the second level and found out that they also featured our childhood book, the "Ibong Adarna" written by José de la Cruz, one of the great Tagalog writers during the Spanish colonization of the Philippines.

Along with the Adarna Installations, there are other IG-worthy attractions and rooms on the upper level. This part of the Tales of Illumina was inspired of colorful and dreamy ambiance.

After more than an hour of walking and taking photos we finally made it to the second part of the tour where we entered to the another cinema. Here you'll see their merch area on the lobby.

The second tour started with icy and snowy room followed by Dandelion-like, man-size installations.

There are interconnected rooms where you can take photos of and a wide space where a big stage is awaiting for the free dance show.

There, we got to witness a live performance of another Filipino folklore.

To complete our experience today, we explored the rest of the area that showcases the story of "Florante and Laura" by the famous Tagalog poet Francisco Balagtas. He wrote the epic during his imprisonment.

Just like the first part, this tour includes more vibrant rooms and activities inside.

Overall, the tour was filled with eye-catching sites and instagrammble spots that are perfect for your next feed or profile photo. Kids will surely enjoy the activities inside as we also witnessed on some of the children we saw inside the tour.

If you are a family, a couple or a group looking for something new in Metro Manila, Tales of Illumina is one of the top choices to have fun at.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the start this December 2021 of the detailed engineering design (D.E.D.) for the proposed Laguna Lakeshore Road Network Project (LLRN).

This after DPWH Acting Secretary Roger "Oging" Mercado with Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations Emil K. Sadain; UPMO Roads Management Cluster 2 Project Director Sharif Madsmo H. Hasim; and Department Chief Accountant Mary Antoinette Z. Puno signed on November 22, 2021 the Consultant’s Services Contract for the D.E.D. of LLRN Project - Phase 1, a new road network at the western side of the Laguna Lake connecting Lower BicutanTaguig City and Calamba City, Laguna with a main alignment of 37.60 kilometers.

The largest IKEA in the world is finally opening in the Philippines!

In a press release Friday, the Swedish furniture maker said its first branch in the country — located at the Mall of Asia Complex — will open its doors on Nov. 25. It is tagged as the biggest IKEA store in the world.

"It has been a challenging couple of years, but we are proud that even through a pandemic, we are now ready to build a better everyday life with the many people in the Philippines," said Georg Platzer, IKEA Pasay City's store manager.

IKEA Philippines was supposed to open its first physical store in 2020, but it was pushed back to this year due to construction delays and the COVID-19 pandemic.

WHAT TO SEE INSIDE IKEA PHILIPPINES?

The IKEA store will feature a showroom and market hall with a total of 8,000 products. Visitors can stop by IKEA's restaurant, which can accommodate up to 850 people — subject to strict COVID-19 protocols.

There will also be a marketplace where customers can find various Swedish food products, including vegetarian and vegan products like meatballs, hot dogs, and ice cream.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the store will only allow a limited number of visitors per day via a slot booking system, IKEA said.

To schedule a visit, customers must visit ikea.ph and follow these steps: 1. Book a date and time slot; 2. Choose number of visitors (up to 3); and 3. Get a digital token. IKEA Family members will be getting early access to book shopping slots.

IKEA Philippines launched its e-commerce site earlier this month. The site is now operating 24/7 and accessible to more customers buying items for home storage and work space, Platzer said.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Monday approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to lift the mandatory use of face shields in areas under Alert Level 1 to 3.

“Ang decision ko is okay, tanggalin nyo na yung [face] shields. Pwede na ninyong (My decision is okay, you can remove face shields. You can), you dispense with the shields but not the (face) mask,” Duterte said in his prerecorded “Talk to the People”.

Duterte said face mask would remain part of the day-to-day safety measure “kasi matagal pa itong virus na nasa hangin lang (because the virus which is airborne will be here for a long time).”

He urged the public to make sure that the Covid-19 positivity rate in the country will continue to go down by following the health and safety protocols.

“You have to obey what the government will tell you to do because it’s for the good of the country and for you. Sumunod lang kayo (Just obey),” he said.

On Monday, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea issued a memorandum detailing the voluntary use of face shields in places with a relatively low Covid-19 alert level.

According to the memorandum, the use of face shields in community settings shall remain mandatory in areas under Alert Level 5 and granular lockdowns.

For places under Alert Level 4, local government units and private establishments are given the discretion to maintain or remove the wearing of face shields policy.

People residing in places under alert levels 3, 2, and 1 can voluntarily use the face shields as their added protection.

"The above protocols are without prejudice to the continuing mandatory use of face shields in medical and quarantine facility settings, and the required use thereof by healthcare workers in healthcare settings," the order read.

The IATF-EID on Dec. 14, 2020 issued Resolution 88, requiring all persons to wear full-coverage face shields on top of face masks in all public places to control the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

In June this year, Duterte ordered the public to wear face shields only in hospitals but immediately decided to keep the IATF-EID’s original policy following the presence of the more infectious Delta Covid-19 variant.

Face shield no longer required at Alert Levels 1, 2, 3 areas
