#WALANGPASOK: Class suspensions for Friday, September 22, 2023

Divisoria in Manila is known as the ultimate budget shopping haven in the Philippines. From clothing and party supplies to school items and bulk goods, it’s a paradise for bargain hunters and small business owners. With so many malls in the area, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. So here’s a handy guide to 10 shopping malls in Divisoria you should definitely check out—each with its own specialty, vibe, address, and mall hours.

1. 168 Shopping Mall

168 Shopping Mall is arguably one of the most iconic names in Divisoria. It’s known for its wide selection of clothes, bags, shoes, toys, accessories, gadgets, and home items—most of which are sold at wholesale prices. The mall is air-conditioned and organized, making it one of the more comfortable places to shop in the area. It’s particularly popular among bulk buyers and resellers.

168 Shopping Mall

While the prices at 168 are already cheap, haggling is still welcome. The mall has multiple floors, each dedicated to specific product categories. Food stalls and small restaurants are also available, perfect for taking a break after hours of bargain hunting.

Location: 918 Soler St., Binondo, Manila

Mall Hours: Daily, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Loading...

2. 999 Shopping Mall

Located just across from 168 Mall, 999 Shopping Mall is another hotspot for affordable shopping. It offers everything from trendy clothes, Korean-style fashion, phone accessories, and cosmetics to gift items and homeware. It’s slightly less crowded than 168, which makes for a more relaxed shopping experience.

999 Shopping Mall

This mall is especially popular among students and young professionals looking for stylish yet budget-friendly items. Many online sellers also source their items here. The building layout is straightforward, making it easy to go from one section to another.

Location: 627 Recto Avenue corner Felipe II Street, Binondo, Manila

Mall Hours: Daily, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

3. Divisoria Mall

Divisoria Mall has long been a go-to spot for school supplies, party needs, fabric, and kitchenware. Unlike the more modern malls nearby, this one has a more traditional flea-market feel. You'll find tightly packed stalls with vendors calling out deals left and right—an experience that defines the essence of Divisoria.

Divisoria Mall

Prices here are some of the lowest you’ll find, especially if you buy in bulk. It’s not the fanciest place, but if you’re on a tight budget or looking to score wholesale prices for your business, this is the place to go.

Location: Tabora St. corner Sto. Cristo St., Binondo, Manila

Mall Hours: Daily, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

4. Tutuban Center

Tutuban Center combines the charm of old Manila with the convenience of modern retail. Housed in the restored Tutuban railway station, it has a variety of stalls, outlet stores, and fast-food chains. It’s one of the more organized malls in the area, and you can find both branded and unbranded items here.

Tutuban Center

It’s also a favorite among families because of its cleaner layout and better security. Outside the main mall is a night market that opens around late afternoon, offering even more deals.

Location: CM Recto Avenue corner Dagupan Ext., Tondo, Manila

Mall Hours: Daily, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM

5. Lucky Chinatown Mall

If you want to shop in Divisoria but still enjoy the comfort of a high-end mall, Lucky Chinatown is your best bet. This Megaworld-developed lifestyle mall is home to mid-range boutiques, restaurants, a cinema, and even wellness centers. It’s more of a break from the Divisoria chaos than a bargain destination.

Lucky Chinatown Mall

That said, its annex area and nearby streets still offer plenty of affordable finds. The mall is air-conditioned, clean, and aesthetically pleasing—ideal for meeting up with friends or just relaxing after hours of haggling in nearby bargain centers.

Location: Reina Regente St., Binondo, Manila

Mall Hours: Daily, 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

6. 11/88 Shopping Mall

11/88 is one of the newer players in the Divisoria area but has quickly gained attention for its neat layout and wide selection of goods. It’s comparable to 168 and 999 in terms of pricing and product variety, but the building is less cramped and more shopper-friendly. It also houses several food choices inside.

11/88 Shopping Mall

The mall caters mostly to the same market—bulk buyers, online resellers, and bargain hunters—but its slightly more polished feel makes it a good alternative if you’re looking to avoid overwhelming crowds.

Location: 1188 Soler St. corner Reina Regente St., Binondo, Manila

Mall Hours: Daily, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

7. Yangco Market (New Divisoria Mall)

Often referred to as the “New Divisoria Mall,” Yangco Market is located along Ylaya Street and is known for selling fabric, ribbons, lace, and sewing supplies. It’s a dreamland for DIY enthusiasts and small-time dressmakers who source materials in bulk. While not a typical mall, it has a more structured layout than the open-air street vendors.

Yangco Market

Prices are extremely low, and you can find nearly every type of textile imaginable—from plain cotton to sequin-studded fabric. Though it can get hot and stuffy during peak hours, the deals make it all worth it.

Location: Ylaya St. corner Juan Luna St., Binondo, Manila

Mall Hours: Monday–Saturday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Closed on Sundays)

8. Prime Block

Tutuban Center Prime Block serves as a major air-conditioned, multi-level retail extension within the historic Tutuban Center commercial complex. It functions as a modern bazaar and tiangge hub, heavily drawing in practical shoppers looking for unbeatable wholesale and retail bargains.

Tutuban Center Prime Block

The building is highly sought after by customers sourcing high-quality textiles, ready-to-wear apparel, home curtains, and specialized event costumes. Additionally, the building integrates a multi-story parking tower right into its layout, making it exceptionally accessible for bulk buyers transporting heavy goods.

Location: Claro M. Recto Avenue, Tondo, Manila, 1012 Metro Manila, Philippines. (It is situated within the main Tutuban Center complex, right along the busy Recto Avenue market lane).

Mall Hours: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily (Monday to Sunday)

Dragon 8

The mall is also known for its cleaner restrooms, elevators, and more modern facilities—something many shoppers appreciate. While still under the radar compared to 168 and 999, Dragon 8 is quickly building a reputation as a convenient and organized shopping destination for bargain lovers.

Location: Recto Avenue corner Dagupan St., Tondo, Manila

Mall Hours: Daily, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

The Laguna Lake Highway, also known as the C-6 Road, stands as a significant infrastructure project in the Philippines, offering enhanced connectivity and accessibility for residents and commuters in the Greater Manila Area.

This thoroughfare spans from Taguig City to Taytay, Rizal, traversing through the scenic landscapes and communities surrounding the vast Laguna de Bay. Let's delve into the description and details of this vital road network:

Loading...

What is Laguna Lake Highway?

The Laguna Lake Highway stretches approximately 10.7 kilometers, providing a crucial link between major cities in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces.

It serves as an alternative route for motorists traveling to and from the eastern part of Metro Manila, bypassing congested thoroughfares and reducing travel time significantly.

C-6 Road was officially opened on June 26, 2018 in the presence of Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano and Taguig Vice Mayor Ricardo Cruz Jr., together with DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur P. Tugade and Bases Conversion and Development Authority President Vivencio B. Dizon.

C-6 Road Key Features and Details

Enhanced Connectivity: The C-6 Road enhances connectivity between Taguig City, Pasig CityTaytay, and other areas surrounding Laguna de Bay. It serves as a vital artery for commuters, easing traffic congestion along major road networks such as EDSA and C-5 Road.

Scenic Landscapes: As motorists traverse the Laguna Lake Highway, they are treated to breathtaking views of Laguna de Bay, the largest lake in the Philippines. The road winds along the lake's shoreline, offering glimpses of serene waters and picturesque landscapes. One of the most visited spots along Laguna Lake Highway is the 6-hectare Lakeshore Taguig or the TLC Village where Mercado del Lago, the floating restaurant is located at.

Infrastructure Improvements: The construction of the Laguna Lake Highway involved significant infrastructure improvements, including the widening of lanes, installation of modern traffic management systems, and the construction of bridges and interchanges. These enhancements aim to improve road safety, ease traffic flow, and accommodate the growing volume of vehicles traversing the area.

Alternative Route: The C-6 Road provides an alternative route for motorists traveling to and from the eastern provinces of Rizal and Laguna. It offers a more efficient and convenient passage, particularly for commuters and freight transport vehicles.

Community Impact: The completion of the Laguna Lake Highway has a positive impact on the surrounding communities, facilitating economic growth, tourism development, and urban expansion. It opens up opportunities for business establishments, residential developments, and recreational facilities along its route.

Environmental Considerations: The construction and maintenance of the Laguna Lake Highway adhere to environmental standards and sustainability principles. Efforts are made to minimize the impact on natural habitats, preserve ecological balance, and promote environmental conservation along the lakeshore.

Conclusion

The Laguna Lake Highway, or C-6 Road, epitomizes the importance of strategic infrastructure development in promoting connectivity, accessibility, and sustainable urbanization. As one of the key road networks in the Greater Manila Area, it plays a pivotal role in facilitating economic growth, enhancing mobility, and improving the quality of life for residents and commuters.
