FAQs

Does Manila Airport Offer Accommodations?

Manila Airport does not feature hotels within its terminals. However, travelers seeking short stays can utilize The Wings Transit Lounge located in Terminal 3. In addition to this lounge, there are several hotels in close proximity to Manila Airport, which we will explore in this article.

Where Can I Sleep at Manila Airport?

The only place to find beds for sleeping at Manila Airport is at The Wings Transit Lounge in Terminal 3. Alternatively, both Terminals 1 and 3 offer airport lounges where you can relax in comfortable chairs before your flight. If you have sufficient layover time, you may also opt to stay at a nearby hotel adjacent to the terminal from which you will be departing.

Is Walking to a Hotel from Manila Airport Possible?

Yes, you can walk from Manila Airport to nearby hotels. The closest hotel to Terminals 1 and 2 is the Manila Airport Hotel. However, considering the 1.5km distance between the Manila Airport Hotel and Terminal 2, you may prefer to take a taxi or use a ride-hailing service like Grab.

Across from Terminal 3, several hotel options are accessible via a walkway bridge over the NAIA expressway. The closest hotel to Terminal 3 is the Belmont Hotel.

For Terminal 4, the closest hotel is the Achievers Airport Hotel, located just across the road from the terminal.

How to Reach the Hotels Across from Terminal 3

To access the hotels situated across the road from Terminal 3, you can utilize the dedicated walkway bridge known as "Runway Manila." This bridge spans the NAIA expressway, connecting Terminal 3 to the area where these hotels are situated.

If you're traveling with minimal luggage and don't mind walking in the humidity, walking from Terminal 3 to the hotels can be an option. However, be prepared to navigate through local streets on the other side.

Alternatively, many of these hotels offer shuttle or private transfer services, which can be incredibly convenient, especially if you're traveling with a lot of luggage, children, or elderly individuals. It's advisable to contact the hotel directly in the weeks leading up to your arrival to arrange your airport transfer.

While most hotels charge a fee for this service, it can save you the hassle of waiting in queues for taxis or ride-hailing services like Grab, ensuring a smoother transition to your accommodation.

Key Reminders

  • Plan ahead and arrive at the airport well in advance, particularly if you have a flight to catch. Aim to be at the airport 3-4 hours before your check-in time as the duration of check-in procedures can be unpredictable, especially at Immigration counters where queues may be lengthy. Additionally, factor in extra time for new normal protocols.

  • Stay flexible with your travel plans as flight and bus schedules may change rapidly. Pre-pandemic experiences suggest that bus schedules may not always be strictly adhered to.

  • Keep in mind that total travel time can vary depending on traffic conditions. Previous experiences indicate an approximate travel time of 2.5 hours on weekdays during late afternoons or early evenings. It's advisable to anticipate longer travel times if commuting in the opposite direction during peak hours.

  • Consider staying overnight in Clark if your flight is early in the morning. While this may incur additional expenses, it can provide peace of mind and reduce the risk of missing your flight. Refer to the list of Department of Tourism-accredited hotels in Clark for accommodation options.

  • Note that Genesis Transport buses will only pick up and drop off passengers at designated spots. Avoid attempting to alight elsewhere.

  • Prior to your trip, contact Genesis Transport to obtain the latest timetable. Given the uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic, schedules and policies are subject to frequent adjustments to comply with regulations and meet changing demands.

WHERE TO STAY IN CLARK

Manila to Clark P2P Bus Schedule

No, this is not April Fool's—the Philippine National Railways (PNR) is officially reintroducing the Calamba-Lucena route.

Commencing today, April 1st, the reinstated route will offer a single daily trip from Lucena to Calamba at 5 a.m. and from Calamba to Lucena at 5:45 p.m. It's a limited schedule, but certainly a welcome return.

Loading...

The fare from Lucena, Quezon to Calamba, Laguna starts at P20, with discounts available for seniors, students, and persons with disabilities. According to the PNR, the journey time from Lucena to Calamba is approximately two hours and 33 minutes.

The reason behind the PNR's operational hiatus stems from early 2023 when certain train-line operations, such as the Malabon and Muntinlupa to Laguna route, were suspended for about five years. This suspension was to facilitate the construction of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project, aimed at expediting the massive construction endeavor by eight months and saving approximately P15 billion, as reported by the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

As of March, operations within Metro Manila have been officially halted. Concerns regarding the PNR's continued operation alongside the NSCR construction include heightened risks of debris-related incidents due to the predominantly elevated structure of the NSCR.

The NSCR, spanning 147 kilometers of urban rail transit from New Clark City to Calamba, promises to reduce travel time from four hours to under two hours upon completion, slated for either 2028 or 2029.
