Did you know you can now cash in to your Maya wallet using your credit card—with zero convenience fees? That’s right—Maya is running a promo that allows users to cash in using Visa credit cards without being charged the usual 2%–3.5% service fee. I tried it myself using my BDO Visa credit card, and here’s everything you need to know before trying it yourself.

What Is the Maya Visa Credit Card Cash-In Promo?

Maya is currently offering a No Convenience Fee promo when you cash in using any Visa credit card, directly through the app. This is a major win for users who want to fund their Maya wallet without bank transfers, InstaPay, or trips to physical stores. You can now top up directly from your credit line at no additional cost—if you do it right.

Loading...

Promo Period

As of writing (August 2025), the promo is ongoing, but like all promos, it may be time-limited. Check the Maya app announcements or their social media pages to see if it’s still active.

My Personal Experience with BDO Visa Credit Card

I tested the process myself using my BDO Visa credit card, and here’s how it went:

  • ✅ The transaction pushed through instantly

  • ✅ I was not charged any convenience fee

  • ✅ The amount was credited to my Maya wallet in real time

  • ✅ It worked as long as the amount was under ₱5,000

However, there were a few key limitations:

  • ⚠️ Maximum of two transactions under ₱5,000 were allowed per day

  • ⚠️ My attempts to cash in ₱5,000 or higher were declined

  • ⚠️ BDO only allowed a total of ₱9,998 (₱4,999 × 2) in one day

So if you’re using a BDO Visa credit card, you can cash in up to ₱9,998 daily using this method—as long as you split the transactions.

Important: Check for Quasi-Cash Fees

While Maya waives their own convenience fee during the promo, some banks treat wallet top-ups as “quasi-cash transactions”, which may trigger cash advance fees or interest charges.

How to Avoid This

Check your bank's policy before using their credit card

Call your bank and ask: “Do you charge quasi-cash or cash advance fees for wallet top-ups?”

Use banks that treat Maya top-ups like regular purchases (BDO Visa seems to be one of them)

Banks known for quasi-cash fees include some foreign banks, fintech cards, and even certain local Mastercard issuers. Visa cards seem to work better overall for this promo.

Apply for a BDO Credit Card now!

How to Cash In to Maya Wallet Using Your Credit Card

Here’s the full step-by-step process:

  1. Open the Maya app

  2. Tap “Cash In” from the home screen

  3. Select “Credit/Debit Card”

  4. Tap “Link a New Card” and enter your Visa credit card details

  5. Set your desired amount (keep it under ₱5,000 per transaction)

  6. Confirm the payment and complete any OTP verification from your bank

  7. Wait for the top-up to reflect—should be instant

You’ll receive confirmation from both Maya and your credit card provider.

Reminders Before You Try It

💡 Only Visa credit cards are eligible for the no-fee promo (not Mastercards)

🔐 Make sure your card supports online transactions and 3D Secure

⚠️ Some banks might decline transactions flagged as wallet top-ups

📈 If you exceed daily limits, you may need to wait 24 hours before trying again

Final Thoughts

This Maya Visa credit card cash-in promo is a smart way to add funds to your wallet for free, especially if you're investing through DragonFi Lite, paying bills, or sending money. Just be mindful of your card’s policies and transaction limits to avoid any surprise fees.

If you’re using a BDO Visa card like me, it’s a safe bet—but always start with small amounts and monitor your credit card statement after your first few transactions.

If you're a Maya user hunting for higher savings interest rates, good news: up to 15% p.a. Maya Savings boost is still active as of August 1, 2025 — and yes, the Lazada and Grab "hacks" still work.

This savings trick is perfect for those who want to make the most of Maya's tiered incentive system without overspending or relying on unclear promos.

Here's a breakdown of how it works, how you can unlock up to 15%, and a step-by-step guide on using Lazada to do it — hassle-free and cost-effective.

Breakdown: Up to 15% p.a. for Select* Maya Users

Maya’s tiered interest rates are based on your spending behavior. Here’s the current setup:

Requirement Boosted Interest (on Savings Balance)

  • ✅ Base Rate 3.5% p.a. on all balances

  • ✅ Spend P35,000 via QRPh / Maya Card +6.5% p.a.

  • ✅ Spend P40,000 via Landers Maya Credit Card +3% p.a.

  • ✅ Spend P2,000 via Maya Easy Credit +2% p.a.

Total Possible Up to 15% p.a.

Note: Promos and boosted rates are for SELECT users — Maya sometimes targets based on account activity.

How to Easily Unlock the First 10% Using Lazada (Updated August 2025)

One of the simplest and most cost-efficient ways to unlock the 6.5% QRPh/Card Spend boost is through Lazada cash-ins using your Maya Wallet and card. Here's how:

Step-by-Step Lazada Hack

1. Link Your Maya Wallet/Card to Lazada

Go to Lazada > Wallet > Cash In > Cards

Add your Maya Virtual or Physical Card

2. Fund Your Maya Wallet

Make sure your Maya Wallet has at least ₱35,000. This is the spending requirement for the 6.5% interest boost.

3. Start a Cash-In on Lazada

Choose Cash In via Linked Card (your Maya card).

Enter ₱35,000 as the amount.

4. Wait for the Confirmation

Maya will send you an SMS confirmation once the cash-in is successful.

5. Get the 10% Interest

Within a few days, you should see your interest rate jump to 10% (3.5% base + 6.5% QRPh/card boost).

6. Transfer Back to Maya

Use Lazada's 1-time free bank transfer to move the ₱35,000 back to your Maya Wallet or other e-wallets.

This closes the loop — no actual net spending, but you still unlock the interest.

Why Lazada?

Cash-in is free, and they offer a 1-time bank transfer out — no fees, no hassle.

GrabPay Variant Still Works Too

Similar steps apply to GrabPay, where you can load funds via your Maya card, then cash out or use them — also counting toward the required spend. However, Lazada remains the preferred option due to ease of transfers and fee-free setup.

Final Notes

This technique works as of August 1, 2025, but Maya may update terms anytime.

These boosts are technically spend-based, so while you're moving money around, the system counts it as eligible "spend".

Always verify via the Maya app or SMS that your boosts are active.

How to Become a 12Go Affiliate Partner (A Step-by-Step Guide)

The Philippines is a tropical paradise known for its more than 7,000 islands, many of which are fringed by world-class beaches.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of exploring several of them — each offering something distinct, from powdery white sand and vibrant marine life to off-grid serenity. Here’s my personal list of the 10 best beaches in the Philippines, based on real visits that left a lasting impression.

1. Boracay, Aklan

Visited: 2024

After its rehabilitation, Boracay has reclaimed its place as the crown jewel of Philippine beaches. The iconic White Beach is the definition of pristine — ultra-fine white sand, turquoise waters, and unforgettable sunsets. Whether you're lounging in a beachfront café in Station 2 or enjoying a quiet morning stroll in Station 1, there’s something for every traveler.

What makes Boracay stand out is the blend of natural beauty with modern amenities. You get the full spectrum — nightlife, water activities like parasailing and island hopping, and peaceful corners for relaxation. It’s a beach that perfectly balances party and peace.

2. Cagbalete Island, Quezon

Visited: 2015

Cagbalete Island feels like a hidden treasure tucked away in Quezon Province. Its shorelines stretch wide during low tide, revealing sandbars and seagrass meadows that sparkle under the sun. The beach is quiet, with only a few local resorts and camping spots that let you enjoy nature without the crowds.

What makes Cagbalete special is the raw, untouched feel — perfect for unplugging. The lack of commercial establishments means starry skies at night, serene mornings, and plenty of space to breathe. It’s a place where time slows down, and you fall into rhythm with the island.

3. White Island, Camiguin

Visited: 2016

White Island isn’t a typical beach — it’s a shifting sandbar in the middle of the sea, with no trees or shade, just pure white sand surrounded by clear water and views of Mount Hibok-Hibok on the mainland. It feels surreal, almost dreamlike, to be on an island with nothing but sun and sea.

White Island

This beach’s charm lies in its simplicity. You go for the views, the snorkeling, and the experience of being seemingly cut off from everything. Arrive early in the morning to catch the sunrise, or late afternoon for golden hour — either way, it’s unforgettable.

4. Patar White Beach, Bolinao, Pangasinan

Visited: 2015

Patar Beach offers a rustic, golden-white shoreline that’s long, wide, and perfect for laid-back travelers. With its dramatic rock formations, charming nipa huts, and the nearby Cape Bolinao Lighthouse, it’s a place that mixes natural beauty with cultural heritage.

Patar Beach during the day

What I loved most was the vibe — it’s unpolished in the best way. Locals grill seafood by the beach, kids play in the surf, and time seems to slow down. The sunsets are breathtaking, painting the entire coast in gold and orange hues. It’s an ideal road-trip beach.

Visit my Bolinao Travel Guide to know more.

5. Salagdoong Beach, Maria, Siquijor

Visited: 2014

Salagdoong Beach is best known for its thrilling cliff dives, turquoise water, and bright blue horizon. The cove is surrounded by limestone cliffs and dense trees, offering a secluded feel. The man-made slide and platforms add a bit of adventure to an otherwise serene escape.

Salagdoong Beach, Maria, Siquijor

Siquijor’s mystic reputation adds a layer of intrigue, but Salagdoong’s real magic is its natural beauty. The water is crystal clear, making it great for snorkeling, while the peace and quiet make it ideal for just floating your stress away. It’s an underrated gem.

6. Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro

Visited: 2011

Puerto Galera is one of the more accessible beach getaways from Manila and is a diver’s haven. Sabang Beach caters to divers and nightlife enthusiasts, while White Beach offers more family-friendly fun and water sports. The coral reefs here are incredibly diverse.

White Beach, Puerto Galera

My first experience snorkeling here opened my eyes to the marine richness of the Philippines. Despite its growing popularity, Puerto Galera still holds natural wonders — waterfalls, hiking trails, and offshore islands. It’s a well-rounded destination for both thrill-seekers and nature lovers.

7. Playa La Caleta, Morong, Bataan

Visited: 2018

Tucked away in Bataan’s coast, Playa La Caleta is a secluded eco-resort with a mix of beach, forest, and hilltop views. Getting there involves a short boat ride, but once you arrive, you're met with soft sand, clear water, and the unique “Miguelito” islet just offshore.

Beach bumming at Playa La Caleta

What makes it memorable is its dedication to sustainability. The resort promotes eco-tourism, so expect solar-powered amenities, minimal development, and a strong connection to nature. It’s a great escape from urban chaos, perfect for digital detox weekends.

8. White Beach, San Juan, La Union

Visited: 2017

La Union's White Beach isn’t as powdery as Boracay, but its charm lies in its surf culture and community vibe. San Juan is the heart of surf life in the north — think cool cafés, yoga spots, and sunset surf sessions. The waves welcome both beginners and seasoned surfers.

White Beach, San Juan, La Union

Even if you’re not into surfing, this beach has a magnetic pull. The energy is relaxed yet social, and you can spend your days hopping between beach bars or just lounging under the palms. It’s modern, youthful, and always buzzing in the best way.

Visit my La Union Travel Guide to learn more.

9. Saud Beach, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte

Visited: 2013

Saud Beach is what many call the “Boracay of the North,” but it holds a more tranquil, unspoiled vibe. The sand is fine and creamy, and the waters are usually calm — perfect for swimming and simply basking under the sun. Coconut trees line the shore, giving it a postcard feel.

I remember the peace here most — no large crowds, just gentle waves and the scent of sea breeze. The windmills of Bangui and the cliffs of Cape Bojeador are nearby, adding cultural landmarks to your beach journey. It’s remote, beautiful, and utterly relaxing.

Visit my Pagudpud Travel Guide to learn more.

10. Calayo Beach, Nasugbu, Batangas

Visited: 2022

Calayo Beach is one of Batangas' lesser-known treasures. It offers a more local, rustic experience compared to the polished resorts in nearby Punta Fuego or Hamilo Coast. The sand is tan and coarse, but the water is inviting, and the coastal scenery is picturesque.

A nice day at Calayo Beach

Its laid-back atmosphere makes it ideal for simple beach outings — no crowds, no noise, just the sound of gentle waves. Island hopping tours from Calayo reveal stunning coves and snorkeling spots. It’s an easy escape that feels far from the chaos of city life.

Each of these beaches offered something unique — from adrenaline-pumping adventures to slow, soul-soothing days by the sea. The Philippines' coastal diversity is astounding, and these ten spots show just how varied, vibrant, and beautiful the archipelago truly is. Whether you're chasing waves, sunsets, or solitude, there’s a beach here waiting to welcome you.

The 10 Best Beaches in the Philippines I’ve Been To (So Far)

The Philippines has embarked on a significant initiative to streamline its identification system, and the cornerstone of this effort is the Philippine Identification System or PhilSys. As a Filipino citizen, I decided to register for this national identification, commonly known as PhilID, to experience firsthand the process and benefits it offers.

What is PhilSys?

PhilSys is a government program aimed at providing a unified and streamlined identification system for all citizens and resident aliens in the Philippines. At its core is the PhilID, a secure and verifiable identification card that consolidates various personal information and serves as a reliable proof of identity.

Loading...

In 2019, the PhilID was enacted via PhilSys Act (Republic Act 11055). The intention is to establish a single national identification system for all Filipino citizens and resident aliens of the Philippines for the purpose of promoting seamless and efficient delivery of government service, streamlining bureaucracy, and enhancing administrative governance, among others.

With the Phil ID, any cardholder can now transact with various government agencies such as SSS, GSIS, BIR, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, etc. using just a single ID (replacing current IDs such as UMID, Postal ID, Voter’s ID, etc.).

PhilSys Registration

While online registration is an option, I was fortunate to discover that a PhilSys Registration Center had opened in Vista Mall Taguig in September 2022 (now closed). This prompted me to personally visit the center and undergo the registration process. Here's a glimpse of my experience:

Smooth Process at Vista Mall Taguig

Registration Form: The process kicked off with filling out a registration form, providing essential personal details such as name, address, and contact information.

Biometrics: Subsequently, the registration involved capturing biometric information, including fingerprints and a facial image. This step ensures the accuracy and uniqueness of the individual's identification.

Photographs: Front-facing photograph of myself and an iris scan.

Efficiency: The entire process surprisingly took only 10-15 minutes. The efficiency of the staff and the well-organized setup contributed to a hassle-free experience.

EPhilID - Early 2023

Approximately three months after my registration, I received an exciting update. PhilSys introduced the concept of an ePhilID, a digital version of the identification card. Here's what transpired:

Personalized Paper Copy
The ePhilID featured all my personal details and a unique QR code, serving as an added layer of authentication.

To my convenience, the ePhilID was delivered straight to my house via PhilPost, making the entire process seamless.

I Received My PhilSys ID

In November 2023, a courier surprised me with an envelope from PhilSys. Upon opening it, I was delighted to find the original PVC copy of my PhilID.

From my initial registration to the final receipt of my PhilSys ID, the entire journey took approximately a year. The government's effort to implement a comprehensive identification system was evident in the seamless process, efficient personnel, and the convenience of home delivery.

As a Filipino citizen, holding the PhilID not only symbolizes my national identity but also represents a commitment to a more efficient and secure future for identification in the Philippines.

What are the differences between a Website Blogger vs Social Media Influencer and which of them is sustainable? This is a perspective from both a blogger and an influencer.

Content Creation in 2020's

In the dynamic landscape of online content creation, two prominent avenues have emerged for individuals to share their perspectives, expertise, and creativity: website blogging and social media influencing.

Website Blogger vs Social Media Influencer

Website bloggers craft in-depth and comprehensive content through their own dedicated websites, allowing them to explore topics at length, establish niche authority, and engage with their audience in a more substantial manner. With full control over branding and design, bloggers can curate a unique online space that reflects their personality and expertise, while also harnessing the power of search engine optimization for lasting visibility.

On the other hand, social media influencers have harnessed the instantaneous nature of platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube to engage with their audience through bite-sized, visually appealing content. These influencers excel at conveying messages concisely and leveraging their personal brand to create relatable and inspiring content. Operating within the fast-paced realms of social media, influencers capitalize on trends, collaborations, and real-time engagement to connect with a diverse range of followers, often offering a glimpse into their everyday lives, sharing quick tips, and providing entertainment in easily digestible formats.

Me as a Blogger and an Influencer

I would say that I am both a website blogger and a social media influencer, though I don't want to be called "influencer". My foundation in blogging is expressing myself in writing and photos. But in today's trend, with social media getting the big chunk of people's attention and time on a daily basis, I have to cope up and go with the flow by creating contents (video and reel), too.

In contrary, many are still using Google Search or YouTube if they need to find a specific details about something they are interested at. That is why I regularly update my web blog and create new contents to cater wider audience.

I must be happy since I hit both of the goals - but honestly, I cannot sustain both with my energy and time. I must weigh in which of the two should I focus more and which of them benefits me more.

Advantages of Being a Website-based Blogger

Maintaining a website blog offers several advantages over being solely a social media influencer. Here are five compelling reasons to consider:

Ownership and Control

With a website blog, you have complete ownership and control over your content, design, and branding. You're not dependent on the algorithms or policies of social media platforms, which can change and impact your visibility and reach.

Long-Form Content

Blogs allow you to delve into topics in greater depth through long-form content. This is especially valuable for sharing detailed information, tutorials, guides, or thought-provoking articles that may not fit within the constraints of social media captions.

Search Engine Visibility

A well-optimized blog can rank in search engines like Google, driving organic traffic to your website over the long term. This means people interested in your niche can discover your content even when they're not actively following you on social media.

Branding and Niche Authority

A blog provides a platform to establish yourself as an authority in your niche. Consistently creating valuable and informative content showcases your expertise and builds your credibility over time.

Diverse Monetization Opportunities

While social media influencers often rely on brand partnerships and sponsorships, a blog offers diverse monetization options. You can earn through affiliate marketing, selling digital products, online courses, premium content, ads, and more, providing multiple income streams. Not to mention of the great possibility of having a passive income.

ACTIVITIES AND TOURS IN MANILA

Final Thoughts

It's worth noting that a balanced approach can be effective. Many successful content creators integrate their website blog with their social media presence to enjoy the benefits of both platforms while minimizing their respective limitations.

Though personally, I earned money from both platforms, I get more from my website than my social media accounts. Influencers with a hundred thousand to a million followers may earn more with their deals with brands and companies. But as I go back to the opening line on this article - which of them is sustainable? My chosen path will always go with the answer to that question.

Why I Chose to Focus on Blogging than Being a Social Media Influencer
