Cebu Pacific Travel Fund Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a Travel Fund?

Travel Fund is a virtual wallet used to store the total amount you’ve paid for an existing booking. Each booking converted to Travel Fund is valid for six (6) months from date of conversion. It can be used as form of payment for booking a new flight and purchasing add-ons in the future.

The value to be included in the Travel Fund includes fares, taxes, all unused add-ons, admin fee and handling fees, but excludes flight fees.

Travel Fund is offered for cancelled flights or for flights with schedule changes of more than sixty (60) minutes. For added flexibility, guests who purchased CEB Flexi during initial booking may also opt for Travel Fund for Voluntary Change/Cancellation purposes.

2. What are benefits of getting a Travel Fund?

These are the benefits you’d get to enjoy when you convert your booking to Travel Fund:
  • Long validity – Travel Fund is valid for six (6) months and it starts on the day you convert your existing flight to Travel Fund.

Remember, you don’t have to travel within six (6) months. Instead, the fund needs to be used up within the validity period, which means you just need to book any flight within that 6-month period. Travel date can be as far as our system shows you at the time of booking, which is usually one (1) year ahead.

Here's an example:

If you decide to book your new flight by the 180th day -- that is, September 27, 2022 -- you can select travel dates between September 27, 2022 to September 26, 2023. Don't worry, we will send you a reminder email 45 days before the last day to use your Travel Fund, so you won’t forget. Alternatively, the expiry date will be shown on your MyCebuPacific account, under My Travel Fund.

  • Faster payment and booking – Because you now have a ready fund available, you can easily complete your booking, whenever you are ready travel again. You can also use your Travel Fund to pay for airport fees (i.e., excess baggage, gate baggage, etc.).

3. Is Travel Fund transferable?

No. Travel Fund remains to be non-transferable. However, the owner the fund may now use it to book for anyone.

5. When does the six-month validity of Travel Fund start?

It starts on the day you convert your existing flight to Travel Fund. Remember, you don’t have to travel within the Travel Fund validity period. Instead, the fund needs to be used up before it expires. Travel date can be as far as our system shows you at the time of booking.

We will send you a reminder email 45 days before the last day to use your Travel Fund, so you won’t forget. Alternatively, the expiry date will be shown on your account, under My Travel Fund.

  • Jason’s Travel Fund is stored as Reservation Credit and it’s expiring on February 2024. He creates a MyCebuPacific account on April 2022 and transfers his expiring Travel Fund there. His Travel Fund’s validity is now shortened to six (6) months, so its new expiry is on October 2022.

8. While not logged in to my MyCebuPacific account, I converted my booking to Travel Fund on December 1, 2021 with two (2) years validity and expiry of December 1, 2023. What happens if I transfer the Travel Fund to my MyCebuPacific account on September 1, 2022?

If you converted your booking to Travel Fund while logged in to your MyCebuPacific account, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your account at https://bit.ly/MyCebuPacificMB

  3. When you reach the payment page, select Travel Fund as your form of payment

Note: Effective April 6, 2022 - The Travel Fund owner (MyCebuPacific account holder) does NOT have to be one of the travelers in the new booking. The Travel Fund owner (MyCebuPacific account holder) can use the Travel Fund balance in his account to book a flight or purchase add-ons for anyone.

If you converted your booking to Travel Fund while logged in to your MyCebuPacific account, the amount is attached to your account. Therefore, you need to be logged in when booking a new flight. The fund can be used to book a flight for anyone, given that at least one of the passengers in the original flight is also one of thers in the new booking. To illustrate this, here's a sample:
  1. Juan Dela Cruz booked a flight with Jane Walker and Juana Diaz while not logged in. The booking reference number is CBWIKY.

  2. Book your flight as usual*

The fund can be used to book a flight for anyone, given that at least one of the passengers in the original flight is also one of thers in the new booking. To illustrate this, here's a sample:
