The no. 1 pageant in the country is in search for the next Miss Universe Philippines this year and the last hours are ticking for the 28 candidates.

The much-anticipated finals will take place on September 30 at the Henann Resort Convention Center in Panglao, Bohol, the organization said on Friday after getting the government's approval.

Henann Resort Alona Beach is the biggest beach resort in Panglao Island, Bohol that sits on a lush 6.5 hectare property on the pristine shores of Alona Beach.

The name Henann was derived from the group chairman's name HENry and wife ANNa. As the biggest home grown resort group in the country today, Henann prides itself on having an all Filipino work force showcasing what Filipino hospitality is all about.

Boracay Regency, now Henann Regency Resort & Spa started out with 43 rooms, a swimming pool, a restaurant and 65 employees trained according to international standards. In 2009, the company joined the bandwagon by acquiring its neighboring Korean-owned Hotel Seraph and named it Henann Garden Resort . Four months after the acquisition, the company opened its third venture in the island, the Henann Lagoon Resort.

Some of the favorites are Masbate's Kirsten "Kisses" Delavin who was part of the reality television series, Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7, Pangasinan's Maureen Wroblewitz, a model and former co-host of noontime show Eat Bulaga, Taguig City's Katrina Dimaranan who is a model and has been into pageantry for a few years now and Steffi Rose Aberasturi from Cebu.

To watch the pageant unfold in real-time beginning 7PM on Thursday, fans will have to secure a ticket (P499, ~USD9.79) from ABS-CBN’s KTX.ph platform.

The coronation show will be uploaded on 3rd October on ABS-CBN YouTube channel, IwantTFC, and TFC IPTV.

On television, GMA 7 will broadcast the coronation on 3rd October at 9AM. It will come with exclusive interviews from the judges and the new Miss Universe as well, so fans will have more in store for them after the long wait.

at least 65 years old upon the loan application
at least thirty-six (36) monthly contributions
employer must be updated in posting the monthly contributions
not a recipient of a final benefit such as retirement benefit
no fraud case against the SSS

Here is a guide on the minimum and the maximum loanable amounts under this Social Security System (SSS) loan offer.

One of the biggest social insurance institutions in the Philippines is the Social Security System or more commonly called as SSS. Most of its members are employees of private companies and self-employed individuals.

Meanwhile, the SSS is also open for voluntary membership under certain conditions. Members of the said social insurance institution pay for a monthly contribution and accumulated contributions makes a member eligible for its benefits and loan offers.

Minimum and Maximum Loanable Amounts for SSS Salary Loan

Malacañang on Monday said the quarantine classification in the National Capital Region (NCR) will be downgraded to general community quarantine (GCQ) from Sept. 8 to 30.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said localized or granular lockdowns, however, will be piloted in Metro Manila during the GCQ period with comprehensive details on the guidelines to be issued on Tuesday.

“During this period, the guidelines for pilot areas shall be observed, supplemented by the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases) omnibus guidelines on the implementation of community quarantine in the Philippines amended,” Roque said.

Roque said once the piloted granular lockdowns become effective, placing different community quarantine classifications in various areas may not be observed anymore.

"Ito'y pilot sa Metro Manila. So, tama po kayo baka dumating ang punto na mawawala ng community classifications pero ipa-pilot na po muna natin ito, so hindi pa po yan sigurado (It's only a pilot in Metro Manila. So, you're right, maybe, time will come that community quarantine classifications will not be needed anymore but we are piloting this first so still it's not sure)," he said.

Metro Manila is currently placed under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) after being placed under the most restrictive ECQ from Aug. 6 to 20 amid the threat of highly transmissible Delta coronavirus variant.

QUARANTINE CLASSIFICATIONS

Roque also reported different community quarantine classifications in various areas nationwide from Sept. 8 to 30 as per the IATF-EID omnibus guidelines.

Placed under MECQ from Sept. 8 to 30 are the provinces of Apayao, Bataan, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, and Iloilo, and the cities of Lucena, Iloilo, and Cagayan de Oro.

Caraga region; the provinces of Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Pangasinan, Quezon, Batangas, Antique, Capiz, Cebu Negros Oriental, Zamboanga del Sur, Misamis Oriental, Davao Del Norte, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, and the cities of Naga, Lapu-Lapu, Bacolod, Davao, and Butuan will be placed under GCQ with heightened restrictions.

Aside from NCR, areas to be placed under regular GCQ from Sept. 8 to 30 include the provinces of Kalinga, Abra, Quirino, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Tarlac, Occidental Mindoro, Aklan, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Zamboanga del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao Del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Lanao del Sur, and the cities of Baguio, Dagupan, Santiago, Cebu, Mandaue, Zamboanga, Iligan, General Santos, and Cotabato.

The rest of the areas nationwide will be under modified GCQ.

Roque said the travel restrictions for international passengers coming from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia “are now lifted effective today.”

NCR to pilot granular lockdown under GCQ until Sept. 30

The Summer Capital officially launched its #breatheBaguio brand during the 112th Baguio Charter Day Anniversary at Baguio Convention Center with Tourism Sec. Bernadette Romulo Puyat, Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Rep. Marquez Go and other officials and guests.

This year’s celebration theme is, “Moving Forward As One”.

The city tourism and special events division under Engr. Aloysius Mapalo spearheaded the formulation of the brand in collaboration with the Baguio Tourism Council, Baguio Creative Council and other partners from the creative sector.

Mapalo said the #breatheBaguio brand is inspired by Baguio’s history that was formerly an Ibaloy Rancheria that was then transformed by the Americans into a hill station for rest, recreation and wellness, then to what it is now – a bustling highly-urbanized melting pot of various cultures.

The “breathe” denotes a relaxing feeling or being able to breathe when in Baguio that is also popularly known as the City of Pines, he explained.

Mapalo said they also came up with a slogan and logo that will be used in posters, merchandise and other promotional materials bearing the #breatheBaguio brand.

These were earlier presented to members of the city council for their approval.

The Mayor said the brand project seeks to inculcate public consciousness of a creatively designed and iconic inspired Baguio cultural identity.

“It’s a destination branding project that strives to profile Baguio and present who we are – an endearing haven where we nurture breathing space for body, mind and spirit, living a life reflective of our amazing culture and history,” he said.

The branding is part of the city’s tourism revival efforts as it continues to grapple with the ongoing coronavirus 2019 pandemic with the tourism industry among the sectors most heavily affected.
